Introduction: Treehouse Dragon Door
DIY Treehouse Door
Step 1: Gather Pieces
For this step we got various sizes of pine 1x's
Step 2: Stain the Wood
Here we stained just the outside frame of the door. we used 1x2 pine for the frame
Step 3: Countersink
We counter sunk holes for the screws that would hold the support on the back of the door and all around the edges to attach the frame, we attached all this with screws.
Step 4: Draw Your Design
Here we drew out a Dragon on one side of the door and King on the other side since that is my cousin's last name, whip we're building the treehouse for.
Step 5: Dremel
We then used a Dremel to etch in the design to give it a more 3D design.
Step 6: Stain
Here we started staining the lines made by the Dremel with a small paint brush.
Step 7: Sanding
After staining, we had to sand it all smooth to get rid of and parts where the stain bled through
Step 8: Finished Product
We added some blue paint to the eyes of the Dragon and finished with a clear poly to preserve it. then we attached it to the treehouse using self closing hinges.

Hi, nice result ! I thought that you had burned the figure into the timber,( I have used a cheap butane cordless soldering iron) but I see that this is a much more forgiving medium since if it's burnt, its really not easy to cover a mistake vs if you are using a moto-tool and go over too far, just don't stain that part and it would disappear. Thank you, I learned something today.
