WONDERFUL BIRD BOX AND VERY FUN TO MAKE!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

a board longer than 21 inches long and 6 inches wide
a board 11 inches long and 11 inches wide
bottom support (a stick) 16 inches
three other supports ( wide as a ruler) 12 1/2 inches
jigsaw
drill
pencil
tape measure
vise grip
ruler
12 1/2 board

Step 1: Making the Sides

On the 21 inch board, make a triangle with your pencil being 7 in. long and 6 in. wide. If you want something to decorate the top then instead of making the top of your pencil line a point, make a straight line. Then use the jigsaw to cut along the pencil line and then you have one side. Do this three times, all the same size.

Step 2: The Hole and the Design

Once you have the three sides, choose one of those sides to be the front. This bird nest is for bigger birds, ( like robins, blue-jays etc.) so I used a small mason jar's lid to trace on the front side. Next, drill a small hole on the traced line so that the jigsaw can cut easily around that circle.

After that, make a pyramid and drill the sides together.

If your going to do a design, draw on the circle a design or a picture, animal etc. Then since the circle is too thick to sandpaper it, you jigsaw it. Since it's too small to hold and jigsaw at once, you'll need the vise grip. Let that thing hold it and you can jigsaw your out line. Then take wood glue and glue it to the top or any part of your pyramid.

Step 3: Bottom Piece and 3 Supports

Place your pyramid on the 11 inch board and trace the bottom of the pyramid. Then cut it out with the jigsaw and put it to the side.

Get a 12 1/2 inch board ( or 13 inch) and take a ruler and draw a straight line 12 1/2 inches long and no wider than 4 inches. Cut it out with the jigsaw. Do this three times, then pick up the pyramid, pencil, and take the supports with you, and go to were you want to put it up. Next organize the three supports to fit the place were you decide to put it. Then mark the supports up against the pyramid with your pencil. Finally, take the bottom piece and put it under the pyramid and then under the bottom piece, match up the supports to the mark that you did before. Now turn it over without moving anything. Drill through the support and bottom to the sides but make sure that the screw does not go to far otherwise it will come out of the side. Do this for all the sides.

Step 4: Last Support and Putting It Up

You can put it on a tree, or anywhere, you may not even need the fourth support. So now, drill it ( or just put it up on a flat surface without doing any drilling) and if you need the fourth support, either get a stick or a support piece. Then drill one end into the middle support and drill the other end to the tree.
