Introduction: Trick Your Treaters!

Trick your Treaters with these fake Rice Krispie Ice Creams filled with candy. (Except the Ice Cream Bar)
To learn how to make your very own, continue! If you dare...

Step 1: Your Supplies!

This recipe will make 10-12 Scoops or 8 Bars.

For the Rice Krispie Scoops/Bars:
6 Cups Rice Krispies
1/4 Cup Butter
1 Bag 10-10.5 oz marshmallows

For covering the Krispies:
Candy Melts of your choice (Note: The 16oz packages I used coats about 8-9 scoops each so plan accordingly)
Toppings of your choice (Sprinkles, Crushed peanuts, Crushed Oreo's, Red Bubble Gum Balls to imitate cherries, or my favorite Gummy Bears!)

For the Cones:
1 Package of your choice of cones per recipe OR Popsicle/Craft Sticks if you are making the bars
1 Bag of mixed bite sized Halloween candies to place in the cones

Tools
Wax Paper
1 Large Cooking Pot
1 Large Spoon
Cooking Oil/Butter Spray
1 Regular Spoon
Measuring Cup

Step 2: Lets Begin!

Place your large pot on the stove. Med-High Heat setting around 7-8.
Measure out your butter into the pot.
Add the bag of marshmallows in as well.

Step 3: Melting the Mallows!

You'll want to slowly stir the marshmallow mixture as it melts so it doesn't burn at the bottom.
Once it is completely melted and stirs smoothly, turn off the stove and take the pot off the burner.

Step 4: Adding the Krispies!

At this point you'll want to add the rice krispies to the large pot. Use your wooden spoon to fold the krispies into the marshmallow mixture until all the krispies are combined. Be sure to coat all the rice krispies in the marshmallow mixture before continuing.

Step 5: Forming the Scoops and Bars!

Before you begin, you'll want to lay out some wax paper and wash your hands thoroughly. After your hands are dry, use the cooking spray and spray your hands with it. It will help keep the rice krispies from sticking to your hands too much. You may repeat this if they begin sticking to you again several scoops later.

Forming the scoops is nice and simple. You'll take one very small handful and roll it out into a ball, then mash it into a patty. Roll another small handful into a ball and press it on top of the patty you rolled out. These scoops can be used for both the sugar and cup cones. If you decide to use Waffle Cones, then just use a giant rolled ball, without the patty. For the bars, you just take a popsicle  stick and form a bar around it.
My picture will help to show you what the end results should look like.
Let these rice krispie treats set out to cool.

Note: Please be careful and try not to form these while the mixture is too hot. Also, if your mixture begins to cool too much before you finished forming all the scoops, just pop the pot back onto the stove on Med-High for a minute tops to soften the mixture back up again.

Step 6: Dipping Your Scoops and Bars!

After your Rice Krispies have cooled, it's time to begin dipping them in the melts.
Put your melts into a microwave safe bowl and heat them up according to the instructions on them.
While the melts are microwaving prepare your toppings you selected and have them ready to sprinkle on.

Step 7: Decorating Your Scoops/Bars!

Take your melts out of the microwave and stir them. Then set up a little assembly line of the melts, wax paper, and toppings.
Dip your scoops/bars into the melts and coat evenly. Using a spoon to get the melts into the crevices of the scoop. After you have fully coated the scoops/bars, place them onto the wax paper and garnish them with your chosen toppings. Then, leave them to cool and harden.

Step 8: Finishing Touches!

After your Scoops/Bars have cooled you can either pack them up in an air tight container to save for later, or prepare them immediately!
Just grab a cone, fill it with candy and place the scoops on top of the cone.

Hope you and your trick or treaters enjoy!
Happy Halloween.
