Introduction: Tuna Fish Lasagna
Lasagna is all time favorite meal. I have tasted a lot of lasagna style and this one is one of my favorite. If you like italian taste then this is what you are looking for . Believe me it takes you to the real south of italy, You all will love to make it and more than that you would love its taste and would make it again ....So do give a try and eat n Enjoy...
Step 1: Ingredients
1.Oregano- 1 tsp
2. Rosemary-less than 1/2 tsp
3. Black pepper powder- less than 1/2 tsp
4. salt- 1 tsp (as per taste)
5. Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp or less( optional)
6. coriander powder- 1/2 tsp or less(optional)
7. Garam masala- apinch( optional)
8. Tomato paste- 3 tbsp
9. Tomato paste with Basil leaves- 3 tbsp
10. Tomato ketchup- 1 tbsp
11. Garlic- " cloves finely chopped
12. Olive oil- 2 tbsp
13. Fresh tomato- 1 medium size
14. Bell pepper- 1 medium size
15. Onion- 1 medium size
16. mozzarella cheese- 200 grams
17. Spinach - 150 grams
18. ricotta cheese- 200 grams
19. egg yolks-2
20. Corn Starch-1 tbsp
21. Large Tuna tins- 2
22.Fresh Lasagna sheets
Step 2: Method
Start with making the white sauce. Take in a bowl some amount of milk and add in the corn starch mix well and see that its smooth without any lumps. Now heat in a pan the remaining amount of milk and add in the two egg yolks, keep on stirring it and add the corn starch mixture, butter and salt to it and keep on stirring it on high flame till the sauce thickens. When its nice thick and smooth take it out in a bowl and let its cool for 5 mins in room temperature. Now add in the ricotta cheese and the mayonnaise.Now mix every thing well and the white sauce is ready .
For the main red sauce .Heat the pan and add in oil ,garlic and onions and give a stir and let it cook for a minute on medium flame . Now add in bell pepper and tomatoes ,let it cook for a minute or two.
Now add in the main ingredient that is the tuna tins. Give everything a good stir. Its time to add in the dry spices(leaving the optional spices if you don't wish to add).Add in salt and mix all well . Now add in the basil tomato paste, plain tomato paste and tomato ketchup. Add in 4 tbsp of water and let it shimmer for 5 mins and in last two minutes lid the pan. After two minutes turn off the gas and the red sauce is ready too.
Now for building of lasagna or you can say as the layering of lasagna.
First layer the baking dish with a little bit of white sauce and on top layer with little bit of red sauce , and then one sheet of fresh lasagna strip. From the second layer we will add in the mozzarella cheese and the spinach leaves.
So add on the fresh sheet the white sauce then the red sauce then the mozzarella cheese and then some amount of spinach leaves and then if you wish add some more mozzarella cheese on top of the spinach leaves then add on top of it the next lasagna sheet..... follow the same pattern till your last lasagna sheet and at end layer with good amount of mozzarella cheese. cover the baking dish with a baking paper( this will not allow the cheese to stick on the paper and also will not over heat the cheese ,that is on top layer) You can watch the video for more clear understanding of the building or layering of the lasagna.
Bake it for 25- 30 minutes at 220 degree Celsius. Enjoy eating with a lovely salad on side.
