Introduction: Turn Your Letter Into It`s Own Envelope.

This instructable will teach you have to fold your letters or notes into small self contained envelopes with a few simple folds.
Perfect for passing notes in class or saving room in your bag or drawer.

Step 1: You Will Need,


You will need;


A piece of paper. This works with standard writting paper or regtangle shapes.

Your hands

A friend to read your secret message (optional, but more fun!!!)

Step 2: Step One


This part is easy. Fold the letter in half lengthways with the message inside the folded paper so it is hidden by the fold.

Step 3: Step 3


Open the paper out again with the message facing you. Now you need to fold the 2 outer edges against the centre fold you have just made.
On the photo I have folded one side to show you what I mean.

Step 4: Step 4

Now you need to unfold the two flap you have just made. Then you need to fold the bottom corners of the paper in.
The bottom of the paper corner should be against the outer fold lines each side making a triangle shape.

Step 5: Step 5


Next you need to refold the flaps to the centre, but keeping the two triangles you just made in place. Once you have done this you also need to fold the two top corners down to the centre line. This should make an arrow shape as seen in the picture.

Step 6: Step 6


Turn your letter over. You then need to fold the bottom of the letter up. This should be roughly a third of your letter length.

Step 7: Step 7


Fold the top flap down. You may need to experiment with this fold and the last fold so that it is even and the edges meet propally.

Step 8: Step 8


On to the last fold now.Nearly done. Once you have made a few of these your be able to fold it in seconds flat.

The flap we have made should have the arrow head shape we made in step 5. You should be able to pinch the two outer corners of the arrow together as pictured in the photo.

Tuck the two points of this fold inside the "pockets" of the layer below. They should slip in smoothly. Flatten the arrow shape back out but keeping the two points inside the pockets.The points should move into the corners of the pocket.

Congratulations your done. I find it helps to a mall arrow or write ull here on the tiny diamond tab that pokes out of the pocket.
Write the name of the person its for on the other side and away you go.
