Introduction: Tutorial for Mini Digital Voltmeter
Description
Put a voltage meter anywhere with this very handy display. These are often used by RC hobbyists for keeping track of batteries but we thought it would be great on a breadboard or enclosure. This is the 2-wire version of the volt meter, two wires are used to power it and measure at the same time.
Specification
Operating Voltage : 4.5-30V
DCSize: 0.56 Inch
Dimension: 48mm*29mm*18mm
Step 1: Material Preparation
To do this tutorial, you will need to prepare as following below :
- MS-4.5-3.0 Digital Voltmeter
- Multimeter / Voltmeter
- DC Jack (Female)
- Battery or Adapter (12V, 7.4V, 5V)
Step 2: Pin Connection
Connect the red wire of digital voltmeter to + of DC jack and black wire of digital voltmeter to - of DC jack. Then, connect to your battery / power adapter to measure voltage to see if this mini digital voltmeter can work just fine.
Step 3: Measure the Voltage
Now, take your multimeter. Turn it on and shift the pointer to DC Voltage. Place the red probe of your multimeter to DC jack's +ve and black probe of multimeter to DC jack's -ve.
Step 4: Result (5V)
As you can see on the picture above, this is the result when both mini digital voltmeter and digital multimeter measure the voltage of 5V power adapter.
Step 5: Result (7.4V)
As you can see on the picture above, this is the result when both mini digital voltmeter and digital multimeter measure the voltage of 7.4V Li-ion battery.
Step 6: Result (10.7V)
As you can see on the picture above, this is the result when both mini digital voltmeter and digital multimeter measure the voltage of 12V Li-ion battery.
NOTE : this battery is not fully charge, therefore, the reading is only 10.7V.
