Introduction: Two Pallets Herb Trough
This is a run down of two pallets herb troughs myself and brother in-law made as a wedding gift for my other brother in-law.
Step 1: Step 1
Brake down the pallets and sort to parts you want to use
Step 2: Step Two
We set out the floor pieces and measured two end pieces and a middle pieces that over hung slightly to allow for the sides and wall to rest on and picked the feet we wanted to use
Step 3: Step 3
This time once we had made the base we picked out a piece of wood that had curved ends and decided to use it on the top piece for decoration at the back. So that it didn't look odd we offered up the side walls and aligned them with were the start of the curve is and cut them to be central.
The side walls this time we cut with the angle we wanted and fitted them to the back and then city and fitted front to it and drilled them in. This way is much easier and means less joining pieces.
Step 4: Step 4
Drill the sides to the front and add any supports needed. We used 4 just to make it a bit more ridged.

I do belive it is a wonderful idea and the pictures of yours suggest that it is something I would like to have for my veranda herbs &c garden. Do you have any printed plans? Whilst I don't have a spare pallet lying around I am now keeping my eyes peeled for one. Thanks guys.

You forgot one very important step: making sure the wood has not been treated with chemicals or contaminated in any way. Here's an Instructable on the topic: https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-determine-i...
Other than that, it's a nice reuse project.

@fesoj_92 the pallets we used has the pallet safer logos which I believe mean that they are free from chemicals. @databanks yes that is what we did after. Each time we make one we find new uses for off cuts and bits.

Looks great, but I think pallets can contain toxic cemicals?

Nice work. Might I suggest using some of the offcuts as internal braces in case they get used without a second pot inside? I know using them that way will rot the wood but you never know. They are a stylish looking way to recycle pallets. Tempted to do a few myself next time I scrounge a pallet from a dumpster. Would stop the so-called gardenersddestroying my plastic pots with their line-trimmer

This is even better than the first trough you made.mi think that you and your brother in law should be knighted for such amazing creations.
