Introduction: USB Rechargeable Body Scale Conversion

About: There's always a better way, just keep recycling those brainwaves!

This salter body scale runs on a cr2032 coin battery.

However its always low on battery when i need it!

Maybe its left standing and it stays on.

I got fedup of changing batteries so made it usb rechargeable.

Supplies

lithium mobile battery 3.7v

Usb charge controller

Double sided sticky adhesive pad

Wire and solder

Push button toggle switch

Hot glue gun

Step 1: Take It Apart

This salter scales had small screws on the rear. Simple, remove and lift panel.

Step 2: Wire It Up

I hot glued the lithium battery to the scales with the bafttery wires attached to the usb charge controller B+and B- terminals. Solder wires from OUT+ to the positive coin battery terminal, OUT- to the negative coin battery terminal with the push button switch in series from the out+ to the coin battery + terminal.

Always be careful with lithium battery wires taking care they do not short with one another.

Step 3: Case It Up

I planted the usb charge controller circuit in the coin battery compartment.

The charge controller was fixed using an double sided sticky adhesive pad.

The toggle switch hit glued on its base.

I also drilled a hole for the toggle button switch.

Step 4: Use It

Charge up the battery using a usb charger and lead. Red led will turn blue when fully charged.

Stoggle on the power button, and stand on it. Job done.

Ps dont forget to power it off.

But should you forget just charge it up again!
