Introduction: USB Type C-Female to USB Type A-Female Adaptor

Mobile Phone Chargers connected to the power utility are not easily accessible and come with a USB C- (Male) charging cable which we use to charge our phones.

We also have several devices such as Fitness Bands, Bluetooth Headphones and Smart Watches which come with short-length proprietary cables with one end terminated in a USB-A (Male) connector.

In this Instructable we build a USB Type-C (Female) to USB Type-A (Female) Adaptor which can be used to connect the USB Type-C (Male) phone charger output to these devices.

The motivation for this project is the non-availability of this type of adaptor for ready purchase.

Step 1: Making the Connections

We connect the V+, D-, D+ and Ground pin a shown in the diagram building the basic adaptor

Next we mix the two-part epoxy compound to cover sensitive portions of the device and also provide rigidity.

Step 2: Using the Adaptor

Here we see the adaptor connected between the USB-C charger connector and the USB-A connector of the proprietary cable charging a Fitbit Inspire 2 device.
