Introduction: Uber Good Buttermilk Biscuits
I saw a program that showed someone makeing biscuits with cream cheese in them, but couldn't find a recipe for them. So I set out to figure it out. I found several biscuit recipes and worked with them untill I found the right combination. When I took them to work the first comment I got was "These biscuits are uber good" The ingredients are basic with one addition, cream cheese.
Step 1: Dry Ingredients
Mix
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt

Step 2: Adding Flavor
Then dice
1 1/2 sticks cold butter (6 oz)
1/2 package cold cream cheese (4 oz)
add to flour mixture and mix on medium speed until incorporated

Step 3: Add Wet Ingredients

1/2 cup cold buttermilk with
1 extra large egg
and beat with fork untill mixed. With mixer on med. Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture all at once and mix only untill moistened.
If too wet add a little flour.

Step 4: Kneading
Place dough on floured prepping surface and knead lightly about 6-8 times, form into a ball, cover with a bowl and let rest 20 min.
Step 5: Bakeing
While waiting, pre-heat oven at 425 degrees F.
Lightly spray baking sheet with cooking spray.
after resting the dough, roll to aproximantly 1/2" thick and using a floured cutter (mine is 3")
cut and place biscuits on bakeing sheet. Mix 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of milk or water with fork and brush on biscuits.
sprinkle with course sea salt and bake 20 - 25 min.
Let cool and remove with a spatula.
Enjoy

Step 6: Cheesy Variation
You can add almost anything you like before bakeing, I like cheese.

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese with flour
add to dough right after the buttermilk mixture.
also try bacon, or sausage or even basil.
Whatever you like will most likely be Uber Good
