Step 1: Make a Line
Make a line from 10 triangles
And color as on picture.
Fold all lines you have.
Step 2: Fold As on Picture
Fold line A_A pic.1
Now you must have pic.2
Step 3: Fold.
Fold B_B You must get pic.2
Fold C_C and glue b on a
Now you get your toy pic.3
Step 4: Fold AO BO CO
Fold AO BO CO insaid. Try to get all 6 pic.
Its really possible.

Look up M. C. Escher and his kaleidocycles.

I understand that it's a paper toy and I'm definitely going to make it and have my kids make it. I'm just not sure how to play with it.

A piece of paper with 3 sides is called a flexegon.

horrible you have to make a print out of this never lines up waste of time
Reply 12 years ago on Introduction
how is this a waste of time? it only takes about 10 mins
Reply 15 years ago on Introduction
You don't have to print it, you could just draw one - it's a simple matter to construct a row of equilateral triangles with a ruler and a compass. Failing that, just print one side - creasing all the lines of the printed side will show the triangles on the back.

i think you mean protractor, not compass.
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
No, I mean compass. Haven't you ever constructed mathematical shapes with a drawing compass?
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
compasses draw circles. protractors measure angles.
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
- Draw a circle with a pair of compasses.
- Do not change the setting of the compass, and mark off steps around the circumference of the circle. You will find that exactly six steps are made.
- Join all six points with ruled lines, you have constructed a regular hexagon.
- Join every other point with ruled lines, you have constructed an equilateral triangle.
If you draw a long straight line, and mark it off into equal lengths, then set your compasses to that length, you can construct a series of identical equilateral triangles along the line. Joining the tops of the triangles makes a strip of triangles, perfect for making flexagons. If you still don't get it, talk to your mathematics teacher.

It's a Mini-ible!
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
oh, i thought you meant measuring 3 60 degree angles at equal lengths then connecting them. and by steps, do you mean how many times you turn the compass?
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
No, you sort of walk it around the circle.
Am I going to have to write an ible for this?
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
no, i just havent had geometry im only in algebra.
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
Only? I find algebra harder than trigonometry.
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
That makes two of us...
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
*awe strucken*
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
Even though I know how to do that, you should make an ible on how to construct different geometric shapes with a compass.
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
Maybe you're right, it's a disappearing skill.
(Project list gets slightly longer)

Wow, a whole instructable in a comment, I am actually amazed! I could be a critic and ask for pics, but i wont, Nice instructable by the way, both of you guys, kiteman, and Golics. :)
