Introduction: Unicorn Edible Cookie Dough
I've been trying to think of different things to do with the 2.5lbs of cereal marshmallows I bought and figured I would try adding them into edible cookie dough when I got the craving for some. I also added in some white chocolate chips just to give it something else special. I'm sure this is the cookie dough unicorns would eat if given the option :)
Instructable 272
Step 1: Ingredients
This is meant to be a single serving of cookie dough as the marshmallows get all squishy in the fridge, but this still took me a few times to eat it all. Just evenly multiply up the ingredients if you want more.
Ingredients:
- 1/8c (2 Tbsp) Butter
- 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 2 Tbsp White Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Milk
- 1/8 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/3c Flour - feel free to pasteurize your flour if it's a concern for you :)
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/4c Cereal Marshmallows (or rainbow dehydrated marshmallows)
- 1/8c about chopped White Chocolate Chips - you can leave them whole, I prefer them chopped
If you decide to chop up the white chocolate chips, you can just use a knife and cutting board. I also tried a chopper one time which didn't give perfect results, but it was easier than hand chopping.
Also, I really liked the marshmallows so I might have added a bit more. Add as many or as few white chocolate chips and marshmallows as you prefer.
Step 2: Mix Cookie Ingredients
Start by creaming the butter and sugars. Mix in the vanilla.
Add in your flour and salt.
Lastly, put in your milk. I decided to do it last in case I wanted more or less added in. One tablespoon worked out perfectly for me.
Step 3: Add in Extras
Time to add in the extras!
Start with the chips because they are more resilient.
Once those are mixed in, add the marshmallows and just stir until mixed in. They break easier so I didn't want to mix it more than I had to once they were in.
That's it. Enjoy :)
Step 4: Eat or Store for Later
Time to eat!
Like I mentioned earlier, the marshmallows go soft in the fridge which isn't bad, it just changes their texture. So if you can, eat and enjoy right away. If you can't store in the fridge. It will get stiffer once it's cold.
For something a little different, put some on a plate in the microwave for 10-30 seconds (depending on how much). It's like a very gooey cookie.

You have to be careful with raw flour--it can carry e. coli. It's not always eggs that make you sick when you eat raw cookie dough.

Yep! You can heat flour in the microwave or oven to make it safer to eat. Seems pretty fast and easy to do :)
