Intro: Unique Number Sign

I made this by following instructions from PeterP_DIY.

Thanks Peter

STEP 1: Template

Make a template using cardboard or if your feeling confident draw straight onto check paper. I used one of my son's old maths book.

STEP 2: Use Exterior Wood

Cut your exterior wood to size and paint with exterior paint. Leave to dry for at least 1 day.

STEP 3: Test Run

I did a test run on scrap wood to make sure the holes were not too close together. It actually took me 3 tests to get it right.

STEP 4: Time to Drill

Place the check paper on top of the wood and drill your holes through the paper.

STEP 5: Final Step

Remove the paper and drill the screws into the ready made holes. I finished off by using a screw driver as suggested by PeterP_DIY who I got this wonderful idea from. When you use the screw driver instead of the drill you can get them nice and level.

STEP 6: Enjoy

Hang in your desired position outside and impress your neighbours.

I truly like your idea using screws to make numbers, I'd like to suggest you
look at an art form called pointillism,

By using different size screw heads, and nails with different heads,
you could do this art form. The different screw heads would
would/could give your art a new range of depth. As the way the light would
catch the different screw heads.

Anyway, I really like what you’ve done using screws to make your numbers.

SORRY the images didn't show up

Thanks Jack, sounds interesting, I'll look into it.

great idea, you might consider varying the depth which create a wave effect,

That sounds great would look really good if you have more numbers as well.

This is really cool. And you can make any kind of sign that you want. All you need is screws.

Thank you, that's true any design would look really cool.
