Introduction: Using IStudy on IPod Touch/Iphone
First off, you must have a jail broken iPod/iPhone. I assume you already know how to SSH into your ipod, and I assume you know how to navigate in windows and such.
I made this instructable cause I didn't find instructions anywhere on the net, and it's really really useful (makes me smarter ;)
iStudy is a flashcard application that I found really helpful for my school work (I'm the kind of guy who hates making flashcards, so I don't Make cards).
Let's begin!
Step 1: Install IStudy
go to installer
go to productivity
scroll down to iStudy
Install!
I don't know the source of it, but you should have it if you have downloaded community sources.
Step 2: Make a Folder
On you desktop make a folder, For an example I'll call it Instructables.
Step 3: Create 2 Text Files
inside the folder create 2 text files, call them:
questions.txt
answers.txt
you MUST type those names. the .txt is just the extension of the text file, don't add the .txt if your icons don't show their extensions when renaming.
Step 4: Questions?
in the question document put the questions you're going to be asking on the flashcards, for example:
Who is the CEO of Instructables?
How many wheels does the robot have?
Who's making this Instructables?
Is instructables interfaces orange?
etcetcetc... MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO SPACE UNDERNEITH ANY QUESTION. For example, under my last question (Is instructables interfaces orange?) there CANNOT be another space, like you pressing enter after the last question. If you do it will cause iStudy to crash, and returns to springboard.
Incase you couldn't tell you put each question on a separate line
Step 5: Answers!
enter you're answers in the same order as the questions, so here's my answers:
Eric
2
guyfrom7up
yes
again, same thing with the no space/enter at the end, for it will cause iStudy to crash.
Step 6: SSH Into Your Ipod
If you installed SSH when you jailbroke you can skip about the first 3 minutes of the video. I did not make the video. You don't need to plug your ipod into your computer, it works through wifi.
root
alpine
download winSCP here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?groupname=winscp&filename=winscp407setup.exe&use_mirror=internap
If you have a mac then I don't know how to do it, the above method only works for windows. If you have a mac I think you need cyber duck or something...
Step 7: Copy Files Over
Copy the folder (that contains the 2 text files) over to the directory (in your iPod) to:
/private/var/root/Library/iFlashCards
Step 8: Launch and Your Golden!
On your iPod launch iStudy
select the subject (foldername)
it begins!
How to use:
Double tap for answer
slide for the next card.
Bad things about iStudy:
in math, it's hard to use signs such as square root or powers or stuff like that
in a foreign language you can't use stuff like oomlaughs.

are there any other reason that iStudy would crash? i made sure that there were no spaces or lines without text, but when i try to open up my flash cards, i get sent back to the springboad.
