Intro: V Lift, a Knex Ball Machine Lift

Hello!

This is the sixth new lift first used in my ball machine Elysium.

It's a big lift that works slow as well, but it works fine and is cool to watch.

It can also be modified in many ways, so feel free to give it a try!

The side of the entrances can be adjusted, as well as the side of the exit. It's also possible to build a second exit, it's up to you what your V Lift will look like.

When you encounter a problem or have a question, you can always send me a message.

Thanks for watching / building!

STEP 2: Frame

We'll start by building a frame that will hold the arms of the lift.

STEP 3: Gears and Motor

In this step we'll build the gears and add the motor. We'll need two gearboxes, one for each side of the lift. Some parts are identical but there are also some differences, so pay close attention to pictures.

STEP 4: Chains

Now we're going to add the chain. Make sure everything is attached correctly, double check to be sure everything is in the right position. If the grey rod attached to the chains is up on one side of the lift, then the grey rod on the other side has to be down. The grey rods also have to be horizontal. The four shorter chains have 41 chain links each, the longer chain that connects the two gearboxes has 55.

STEP 5: Entrances

Here we're going to build the two entrances.

STEP 6: Exit

In this step we'll make the exit.

STEP 7: Arms

This are the two arms that give the lift its V shape.

STEP 8: Arm Exits

The last step. First we're going to add the arm exits, and then we will attach the V shape to the frame.

STEP 9: Finished!

The V Lift is finished!

Always slide the switch of the motor to the left.

Thanks for watching / building!

This is a great model. I’ve enjoyed building it. When is your next model coming out?
Hey Sandro, I know knex on instructables is basically dead, and you are busy with school or work, but I was just wondering if you are planning on making any new ball machines, or if elysium was your last one. You are such an inspiration for the knex community, especially ball machine builders, and have inspired myself to make ball machines. Thank you.
Thanks a lot! Currently not planning to build new things I'm afraid :/
So glad to have you back to this community!
Just for the lifts I posted, nothing new coming up currently :)
Great design! I'm surprised 1 motor can handle all that. Glad you are back. Are you planning on making any new ball machines?
Thanks! Not really, I still had these lifts standing in my room and I absolutely wanted to post them one day. I finally got the time to make the pictures and videos, so that's why they got posted recently. No new ball machine plans for the moment I'm afraid :/
Voted! (And for all your other lifts). The innovation you bring to the community is always incredible. It’s great to see you’re still active (wish I could say the same about myself). Good luck in the contest!
Love you very detailed instructions. Thanx
That's awesome! I love how violent this is lol.
Yeah man, though I haven’t been on in forever, some of my last comments date back to a year ago, and before those comments I hadn’t been on for a year before that. Life’s moved on and I haven’t had as much time to myself. While I was still in middle school or high school I had tons of time to play with them, not so much anymore. I have a knex truck ible and knex gun ible coming out writhin the next month too. Granted I’ve had them both built for about 2 years but I still got the skills to build lol.
