Introduction: ✂ VEST HOODIE ✂
I wanted a big hoody to wear on top of my sweaters.
I wanted it to be easy to make and sew and really simple looking. And I wanted it reversible.
If you like it can you vote for me in the contest? Thanks!
Step 1: THE PATTERN
This is the simple pattern I come out with.
To made it for your own size measure yourself from the top of your head to under your shoulders and your chest.
Plus you need 2 stripe for close it.
Step 2: MAKE THE PROTOTYPE
Made the prototype in paper and try it on.
My first one didn't really work out, it was too little, but the one in the picture was finally fine.
Made it big so you can wear it on top of other clothes.
Step 3: CUT FABRIC
You need 2 different color fabric sheets: cut 2 pattern in each one (opposite): you are going to have 4 pieces.
Then cut other 2 stripe out of one of the fabric sheet (like in the picture).
Step 4: ZIG-ZAG
Sew with a zig-zag stitch all the edges of the fabric pattern, so it wont unthread.
Step 5: SEW THE HOODY
Pin and sew together the top part of the hoodyes of the same color, inside out.
Step 6: SEW THE HOODYES TOGETHER
Pin ans sew the front part of the two hoodye together (with the right face facing together, first photo).
Then flip the over, so they will both have the right face facing out (second photo).
Step 7: SEW THE HARM HOLE
Pin and sew together the harm hole (one color fabric to the other one, like in the photo), flipping a little edge inside.
Step 8: SEW STRAPS
Sew the two srips (the ones you previously cut) in half lengthwise, inside out .
Then flip them right side out.
Pin them to the bottom part of the vest hoody, between the two different layer of fabric, and sew them.
Step 9: SEW THE BOTTOM PART
Pin and sew together the bottom part of the vest hoody, flipping a little bit of the edge inside.
You are done!
Step 10: DONE
You are done! I hope that with the help of the photo I were clear...
Step 11: WEAR!
Wear it! Tie it in front with the two lace, and you can wear it both color!
I really like it!

thanks for this awesome and simple design process. its the first instructables that I have done and I'm on my second one already with another due in the next few days as hand sewing takes a little longer. I'm looking forward to making my best friend green with envy and then giving her one as a surprise!

Fantastic idea! I can see this as a children's clothing item, such as a lightweight coverup for the beach in the summer, and maybe a reversible print in the winter. I think kids would love this.
