Introduction: Vauxhall CDTI SAAB TID Alfa Romeo MultiJet Inlet Manifold Swirl Flap Rod Replacement 1.9 150BHP Diesel Fix Install Fitment Instructions
Engine management light (EML) lit, high fuel consumption, rough idling, rough running, poor power and torque, smoking from exhaust, error P2279-11 Intake system air leak,P2075 fault code?
All these symptoms can be caused by the swirl flap operating rod bushes wearing making the operating rod pop off stopping the swirl flaps from operating, you will often see the rod lying on top of the intake manifold.
Rather than having to remove the manifold and replace at great cost with the problem reoccurring in the future our rod solves this issue, replace the rod with our improved design rod with bearings which will not fail again.
Our bushes are made from billet Brass, fitted with a Viton O-ring and Stainless steel fasteners, designed to never fail again.

Step 1: Locate Loose Operating Rod
Please note there is no need to remove the manifold for this repair, this repair can easily be carried out in situe. Remove engine cosmetic plastic cover, beneath this you will see the intake manifold.
Locate loose operating rod, you will likely find this laying on top of the manifold. If still in position you can bend a coat hanger to make a hook to aid in removing the rod.
Step 2: Fit Our New Operating Rod
Fit our new operating rod. If struggling for access to push down on rod to secure use long reach pliers or reshape coat hanger hook to push down on rod.
