Introduction: Venison Rice Dish

About: I spent four years in the 75th Ranger Regiment now I'm going to school for mechanical engineering.

For those of you who have deer meat sitting in the freezer I wanted to share with you a nice meal I made. You can use it for a side, or if you are a single, way too manly deer slaying machine like myself. no big deal, you can keep it in the fridge and eat it for a number of meals.

Step 1: You Will Need:

You will need:
a pot
a 10 in pan (preferably the kind with the vertical edge to keep all the good stuff from spilling)
a caserole dish to put all the tasty food in when done
1 and1/2 cups rice, white or brown ( I used white)
1/2 pound of deer sausage (deer burger would work fine)
one potato or two if you're feeling lucky
onions- I used about a third of an onion but if you love onions then drop the hammer
carrots- I used a can of sliced carrots cause its all I had but I probably would have choped two or three
vegatable oil
soy sauce
some awesome asian seasoning mixture I picked up at wally world, hibachi style
a sink so you can get some water from it
Two beers - to drink while your cooking. Only if your twenty one, drink responsibly ;)

Step 2: Step 1:

A) Put some water in the pot (enough for your one and one half cups of rice to boil in, I didnt measure)
-set it on the stove and wait for it to boil

B) Hopefully you have defrosted the deer meat by now, if not, dont worry you have a microwave... use it
     - put some vegatable oil in the pan
     - put your deer meat in the pan and start to brown it

C) Start choping that potato

Step 3: Step 2:

A) Once your potato is all chopped up chuck it in the pan with the venison so it can cook, stir occasionally. Use your stirring utensil to smash up the sausage into small pieces. make sure if you're using real carrots to put them in with the potatoes so they have time to soften. (im using canned carrots)

B) Check on your water, once it boils dump the rice in. Stir occasionally

C) Chop up your onion and get it ready, get you can carrots ready, and asian style seasoning and your soy sauce ready

Step 4: Step 3:

A) Once your sausage has browned turn the heat down low, you dont want it to burn

B) Dump all the onions, carrots, and the awesome asian seasoning mixture into the pan with the meat and potatoes. Dump in Soy Sauce liberally and stir

C) Check on your rice, It should be getting close to done by now. You should also be on your second beer by now, if not then chug.

Step 5: Step 4:

A) Once your rice is done strain all the water out and dump it in the caserole dish

B) Grab your pan full of awesomeness and dump it on top of the rice. Stir it all up like a mad man.

C) From here you have two options
-Have a feast in your own I did
-Bring it to the closest holiday party and be the talk of the town!
