Introduction: Versatile Cargo Organizer for Truck Beds (or SUV's )

Several years ago, I bought my first pickup truck and I loved it.  My wife and I have a small residential rental business and the pickup truck has been so useful during the various renovations we performed.  When you need to move a lot of stuff there is nothing better.

That said, on a day-to-day basis it can almost be too much space.  When you have to refill the propane tanks, or fill the lawnmower gas cans, or get a few bags of groceries, or take a couple of five-gallon buckets worth of stuff, etc. it can be a challenge to secure these items.  Too often I have opened up the tailgate to find cargo everywhere.

While there are a number of pickup bed storage solutions out there like tool boxes, bed slides, propane tank holders, bed decks with drawers underneath, etc. they all have their pros and cons.  I needed a solution that would serve my day-to-day needs (groceries, a tool bag, propane tank, etc.) without giving up any flexibility for those times when I needed the full bed for a larger renovation or hauling project.

I decided to make a versatile cargo box that would provide whatever kind of storage I needed on a day-to-day basis and could be easily removed when I needed the full bed.
