Intro: Vintage Signs - Sports - Flags - Christmas - Other Signs

Some paint, some salvaged wood, and some imagination and anyone can make a vintage sign. I use acrylic paints, odds and ends (signs, baseballs, baseball bats, decoupaged pictures and have a wonderful time being creative.

Christmas signs are done in a similar way, but I use battery operated LED lights with built in timers.

Thank you for your comment.

I started doing these this past summer. For all of the components, I always look for clearance items/bargains.

1.First, I utilize mostly salvaged wood from a local and wonderful salvage store (Eco Relics - a cross between Salvage Dogs and American Pickers). Any signs for outdoors, I use pressure treated wood and finish them with several coats of a heavy duty outdoor polyurethane.

2.I use a dremmel Max saw to cut wood to size.

3. For nice lettering, I order from CraftCuts, otherwise I use letters/numbers obtained via Michaels or Hobby Lobby

4. Pictures/signs I use TinWorld or look for bargains fro RetroPlanet.

5. Other pictures I "google" the subject and download the pictures I need. I then print them out on photo paper.cut them to desired size, mount on cardboard (to size), and decoupage them.

6. Christmas signs utilize LED lights that are battery operated and have timers as part of them

I feel that I am getting pretty good at these and can do virtually any subject. The ones you see are a small sample that include religious subjects, garden signs, college teams, inspirational sayings, etc. I have a "catalogue" (a PDF file) available as well as the signs being on my FaceBook (Jonathan Schneider - Fleming Island, albums. I hope this assists you.
