Introduction: Vintage Style Head Band
Make this cute alice band from pretty printed cotton fabric. It will cheer you up. I wear mine when i am creating new things to make me happy and more creative. x
Step 1: Cut the Fabric and Sew
Step 1, Cut 3 stips of fabric. 1 for the band at 19" x 8"
2 for the bow at 11" x 8" and 8" x 8"
Fold each strip with face sides together longways and machine down the longest side. repeat for each strip. Turn through and press with the seam down the middle

Step 2: Make the Bow
Put the Band section to one side. Fold in the ends of your bow sections by half an inch and machine closed.
Lay the 2 pieces on top of each other and sew a running stitch up the middle. Pull and sew off.

Step 3: Attatch the Bow
Place the bow where you want it to be on the alice band and sew through the middle to hold in place, add the button or broach.
Turn the ends of the bows under by 1"
Stitch these in place in all corners

Step 4: Add Elastic
Put the band around your head and see how much elastic you need. Add 1" for going into the ends of the band
Put a half inch of elastic in each end and turn the fabric the same. Machine across gathering the fabric as you go.

Step 5: Wear and Smile X
Try making them to co-ordinate with pretty dresses.
