Supplies

Piece of Wood (at least 1 inch thick)
Saw
Sandpaper (120 and 220 grit)

Set of magnets (such as neodymium magnets) of magnet strip

Step 1:

Measure and mark the wood: Measure and mark the wood to the desired size of your knife holder. Keep in mind the size of your knives when deciding on the size of the holder. It's better to make it slightly larger than the knives to allow for easy insertion and removal.

Step 2:

Cut the wood: Using a saw, cut the wood to the size marked in step 2. Make sure to make a straight cut to avoid uneven edges.

Step 3:

Sand the wood: Use the 120 grit sandpaper to smooth out any rough edges or surfaces, then use the 220 grit sandpaper to make it smoother.

Step 4:

Mark the magnet placement: Measure and mark where the magnets will be placed on the wood. The magnets should be spaced evenly apart and be placed in a way that will securely hold the knives.
