Step 1: Sourcing the Wood

I got raw wood from the local saw. I took some more wood, because this is the first project for bathroom. The second one is still to come.

So for the cabinet i took two 4m long and 4 cm thick walnut plank.

Step 2: Prepairing Two Planks for Glueing

The planks ware rough straight from band saw and dried in drying house.

So the first step was to flatten one side and one edge.

This was done with hand plane.

Step 3: Time for a Glue

When one side and one edge was flat and the edge was fitting perfectly it was time to glue them together.

I tried to match the grain, to get uniform grain pattern as possible. That later i would get look like it is one peace wood.

For glue i spread the glue on both side, align the planks and press them together on a workbench.

Them left it 24 hours to cure.

Step 4: Rouhg Shaping and Flatenning Other Side

After a glue-up I cut the rough shape.

I did that, because there was still quite some twist in board. especially on edges. So when I cut of excess, a also cut of the most twisted part.

Than like the first side time for some more planning.

P.S. don't forget on "soft jaws" for your vise, if you don't have real woodworking vise. if you use your metalworking vise without soft jaws, it will leave markings on wood, and all the work will be ruined.

Step 5: Filling Epoxy to Knots

One part of plank was with knots.

And I want to have whole cabinet from one peace, the was no other chance to do as fill those not stable knots with epoxy resin.

So I clean the knot. everything, that was not stable went out, and filled with laminating epoxy resin.

Then left to cure 24 hours before it was sended down to lever of wood.

Step 6: Cuting to Sections and Prepairng for Gluing

After the ford was nice and flat, it was time for cutting it to sections.

I measured the sections, and cut them with circular saw at 45 degree. every joint needs to be cut two times, to become a miter joint later.

Because my circular saw couldn't cut trough all wood, u finished with handsaw.

Saw left quite rough finish. to be able to make as good as possible miter joint i had to plane it down to flatten it. And than try both pieces together. than i was sending then so long til i got the perfect fit.

After all was fit i glue them together. one at the time.

For clamping i did a clamp, that wag exactly 90 degree.
