Introduction: Warm Bedding for Pets
Local animal shelter wanted bedding - comforters and blankets for pets. Had several large comforters to donate but felt that was foolish - 1 comforter for a dog -- a lot of washing for the humane society. So I decided to cut a comforter - into 4 to 6 smaller sizes. I covered them with used pillowcases or sheets that were stained. Quilted them. Donated them to Humane Society of Atchison, Jefferson County Humane Society, and Atchison Animal Control.
step 1 - cut comforter into 4 to 6 pieces
step 2 - cover comforter with sheet or pillowcase (pillowcase works best as you eliminate the need to cut and sew side seams)
step 3 - using sewing machine -- set to large stitches - free-form quilting
step 4 - take to local shelters
this may not be what you are looking for as an entry -- but the dogs and cats sure do appreciate getting them
local humane society tells me that this has cut down on laundry and drying time

Love it :) Even better that they are donated for a good cause :) You should put a picture of the pet bedding first so everyone can see it right away!
