Intro: Water Leak Alarm Using LinkIt ONE

In this Instructable I'm going to show you how to build quickly a water leak alarm system uusing the Mediatek LinkIt ONE board. You can use this device to detect if any water leaks out from the pipes. If detects water will sends you an e-mail.

This project can be build in 10 minutes... So what's to lose?

STEP 1: Parts

Parts:

  • Mediatek LinkIt ONE Developer Board
  • USB cable
  • 2 wires
  • Ductape
  • WiFi antenna

You don't need any special tools for this project, only a personal computer an 10 minutes.

STEP 2: The Electrodes/sensors

Use your ductape and fix those two wires close to each other.

STEP 3: Power Up

Plug the battery in.

STEP 4: Upload the Code!

Plug the mediatek LinkIt One in your PC with a USB cable, download and upload the code. You'll have to intall the Blynk and the LinkIt One libraries.

STEP 5: The Done Circuit

Use rubberbands to fix your parts, and now find a right place for your new device.

STEP 6: Feel Safe If You're Not at Home!

Put the sensor on a critical area. From now you don't need to afraid from potential water leakings. This device will alarm you. Hope you liked. :)

Can you use the same thing to see if ur pool is leaking water from the bottom of the vinyl
I have seen this concept before, and here is one thing you can upgrade, use a old sock or cloth and wrap the sensor with it to the tube because otherwise maybe the leak will not reach the sensor :)
