Introduction: Water Marbling

Water marbling is a technique for doing nails that allows you to have a sort of swirl affect.
These colors feel like summer to me which is why I did them, like this.

Step 1: Materials

You will need purified water, a round disposable cup, nail polish, scotch tape, and nail polish remover. If you do not use purified water you will have a disastrous time trust me. Also it needs to be room temp water. The colors I used were Xtreme Wear™ White On, Mellow Yellow, and Sun Kissed. My two top coats were China Glaze™ Fairy dust, and Seche Vite top coat. You will also need an orange stick or Q-tip to mix the colors.

Step 2: Taping Off Your Finger

Before you can do your water marbling, you need to tape off your finger. Because if you dont you will be spending all day cleaning off your fingers from all the nail polish. You take your first piece of tape and put it around the tip of your finger as close to the edge of your nail as you can. Then you take your second piece and put it across the top. Then push the back together.

Step 3: The Process

Now you want to do your actual water marbling. Have your purified water in the cup and then start to make a bulls eye with your colors. After you have put your colors in the order that you want. You make your design with your orange stick. When you get a design you like you dip your finger in that part. But before you lift it up from the water. Take your orange stick and gather all the nail polish around your finger so that your design does not get all messed up by the other nail polish. I have a video showing the first part.

Step 4: Final Step

Cut the tape off your finger and put on your top coat. I put on a sparkly top coat, and then a regular topcoat. Then you use your Q-tip with nail polish remover of it, to clean up the little bit of excess nail polish that might have gotten on your finger. And your done!
