Introduction: White House Christmas Ornament

For the 3-D Printed Ornament Design Challenge, I created an ornament with the hopes that it can go on display in the White House. Keeping with this goal, I created a snowman design inspired by the Seal of the President of the United States. The snowman, like the eagle, clutches a cluster of arrows in one hand, and an olive branch in the other. This design was also my first try at using TinkerCAD, and learning new things is always fun.

Step 1: Creating the Model

I created this model using TinkerCAD, an in-browser CAD program. The program is a bit limited, but is definitely impressive for free, online resource. I struggled a bit at first with some of the grid snapping, but once I got the hang of it it was fairly intuitive. I designed my ornament on its back, rather than standing up, so that it could be printed without any support structure. Overall, I was fairly happy with how my model turned out, but I wish I could have figured out an E. Pluribus Unum scarf. Oh well, things to try next time.
