Wire Tree Sculpture

Intro: Wire Tree Sculpture

A very good present for Christmas!

STEP 1: Wire

4 little wires with insulation.

STEP 2: Stripping

strip insulation of all 4 wires and the insulation on the 4 little wires

STEP 3: Cut in Half

Cut stripped wire in half and then cut in half again so you have 4 wires of the same length.

STEP 4: Twisting

Twist two wires together leaving some of the wire untwisted at the top and bottom.
Twist 2 at a time then once all wires are paired up do it again with another one until you don't have any more loose wire left.

STEP 5: Add the V

Remember trees aren't perfect and usually have v's or something.

Redo step 2 except not as long and as much twist them as usual and then twist around tree and have it stick outwards.

Do that again but wrap around v spot so it looks more realistic (look at pictures)

STEP 6: Your Done

Tweak it a bit to get it just right.

Very nice work here. I could see focusing on the typical "above ground" portion of the tree - and placing inside of a deep shadow box arrangement.
That is an awesome idea please if you do make it post pictures thanks.
if you use a larger gauge wire to begin with, the base of the tree will be a lot thicker and sturdier. my dad made me one awhile back using a really thick copper electrical wire he had left over and it was easy to bend into place but since even the copper wires inside were thick it wouldnt easily bend out of place if it was moved or dropped. i love this idea and i plan on making another one when i get the chance.
Good idea with the thicker wire - I may try this out myself...
dude this is wicked cool .. im def. inspired .. =)
Thank you so much for your nice comment and don't forget to vote on the contest.
