Introduction: Wireless Control Race Start Light Set

About: Innovator, Electronics evil.

This is wireless controlled race start light system. This is made for our Motor racing club Racing events.Specially for Auto test and Hill Climb racing events.

Old time we used wave the checkered flag to competitor and give the start signal. But now we using wireless control light system.Even we can do any night race events.and no any confusing or any error when using light system for race start.and when using wireless its so easy.

Step 1: Collect All the Items You Need

I have designed and made the PCB and all other stuffs.

One round Light has 92Led's.

RED Led's = 92 x 4

Green Led's = 92 x 4

220Ohm 1/4W resistors = 44 x 4

433Mhz 4 channel wireless remote control module - bought from ebay.

Wires,Soldering iron,and solder wires.

Nut and bolts.

Solder and finish the PCB's

Step 2: Design and Make the Aluminium Frame

2" x 1" x 1" Aluminium Box bar (12 Feet bar) - use this bar and cut all the pieces for the right measurement and cut corners 45 degrees and connect them using rivets and make the aluminium box type frame.

Aluminium Frame and back cover panel(aluminium) - using screw nuts fix the back cover to the frame.

Light front panel with curved Light hat cover. - light hat curve shape covers made from 20 Gauge steel strips, curve them and solder with higher wattage soldering iron + solder wire and just put HNO3 acid when soldering on the soldering line.(it will easily solder) ;)

Step 3: Fix All Soldered PCB's to the Front Panel

Step 4: Wiring Diagram Transmitter and Relay Out Puts

use this wiring diagram when connect the lights with relay out put...remember to put the receiver antenna out from the casing.

and for the transmitter I have disassembled that remote with 4 buttons and soldered wires for 2 buttons and connected with 2 on/off buttons.

and put them all transmitter unit in the plastic box because it need hard and rugged use.

Step 5: Finally Test the Light Set With Controller

Check the images we used my light set in our Club Hill Climb racing event :D Yeah!!Its wireless ;) worked 20m range that day.
