Making a piece of wood art that can hang on a wall using an old wood pallet

Supplies

a pallet or pices of 2x4
heat gun
jig saw
miter saw
acrylic paint
paint brush
towel that you dont mind ruining
wood glue
plywood 4x8
pencil

Step 1: Pallet

The first step is to take apart your pallet carefullly making sure to remove all nails and only keep the pieces on the top or bottom of pallet that you personally like! Make sure if the wood splits while taking it apart to not use that piece.

Step 2: Paint and Burning

For the next step your task is to take all pieces of the pallet that you pulled off and to use the heat gun carefully hovering it over The wood to create a burned look without catching the wood on fire! Be very cautious while doing this step! Next once the wood has cooled down you will want to get your acrylic paint your brush and a towel or rag ready!

Step 3: Paint

To paint the wood after you burned it what i did was get the wood really soaked with the wash cloth then brush my acrylic paint over lightly to the shade i wanted then going back over with the wet wash cloth to make sure you could still see the burned look!

Step 4: Mark and Cut

for this you will now want to mark your pieces for as big as you want them I chose 6 inches but you can make yours smaller or bigger! then you will cut each piece at a 45-degree angle on the ends making sure you have some going the opposite way make sure you have an even amount on both sides for reference I had 24 pieces total of 12 in each direction! make sure they are all the same length! you will cut using the miter saw at 45 degrees.

Step 5: Design

Next, lay out your design on your plywood making sure you mark where you want to cut your boarder leaving room for the frame! once you have marked it use a jigsaw to cut your square and sand down the edges after!

Step 6: Paint Pt.2

Next you will want to paint your background piece or your plywood and your boarder pieces which will be made out of 1 1/2inch wide 3foot pieces 4 of those and cutting the ends at 45 degree angles

Step 7: Glue

Next, you will glue down each piece individually using heavy-duty wood glue and clamp down with something heavy till dry! then do each frame piece individually clamping down in multiple places! Add your wire hanger and you are all done!
