Introduction: Wooden Cube in a Cube in a Cube
Hello everyone, in this project I wanna show you how to make a Wooden Cube in a Cube in a Cube. I made video and step by step instruction how to make it. This is very easy and cheap project. Cubes look realy intresting and forces people to think "How it's made?" or "How to pull out a cube from a cube?"
So, let's get started :)
Materials:
- Piece of wood
Tools:
- Table saw
- Sandpaper
- Chisel
- Bench drill
Step 1: Watch the Video
Video will give you a good overview on how to create such a rocker wooden cube in a cube in a cube. But the following steps will still contain some extra useful information.
Step 2: Prepare a Wood
First you have to find a good chunk of wood. My cube is 10x10x10cm. I could not find that big chunk without cracks. I used 4 pieces 5x5cm. Remember wood must be completely dry.
Step 3: Make a Perfect Cube
Cut wood to the expected sizes and glue it. To remove glue after gluing use a belt sander or sandpaper on flat surface. Now 4 walls are ready. How you can see, those walls was almost flat after gluing but 2 walls are very uneven. So, to make theme perfect flat I used my cnc router. Wood surface planer should work pretty well but my is in bad condition.
Step 4: Make Holes
To make holes you can use cnc machine or bench drill. I used cnc machine because I don't have a bench drill. Sizes are on a photo.
Step 5: Sanding, Separation and Painting
When all holes are made, use a sandpaper to improve cube. Next, use a chisel to separate cubes. If everything look good you can paint cubes.
Step 6: Finish
Wooden cube in a cube in a cube in a cube is completely finished :)
You did it!

Wow that's the coolest thing I've ever seen. What a conversation piece!!!!! Amazing. I would have thought impossible to make or there was a trick and it wasn't really solid. Thanks for sharing.
