This is a very simple and fun project. It doesn't involve many steps and is easy to do in a short amount of time. The idea came from the simplicity of Vincent Van Gough's paintings which really inspired, us, the group making this project. This project has the potential to change a lot of lives depending on how those lives want to be changed. The cost of this project is very low and only requires simple tools.

Step 1: Hole

Drill a hole towards the front of the wooden plank in the middle for the steering column to come through. Also mount the rear wheel at the back of the wooden plank

Step 2: Make the Front Wheel Platform

Select a wooden plank the length 10 cm less than the width of the main platform. Drill a large hole in the middle for where the wooden rod will go making sure to not drill all the way through leaving about 5mm of wood at the bottom, this will be the steering column. Once done insert the rod and fix it in place with a screw from the wide, make sure the screw goes through the wooden plank then into the rod then back into the plank. After it is fixed in place mount the bearings. When the group did this the bearings were on a block of their own, but it would be wiser to mount them on the edge of the steering platform as this will make the main platform resting on top more stable. To do this drill pilot holes into the side of the steering platform on both ends. Then tighten the bearings on the end of the steering platform with screws making sure the top of the bearing is above the top of the steering platform and that they still spin freely. This will make it easy to turn the steering platform. Lastly, drill holes for wheels the front wheels will be mounted. Make sure the holes are slightly smaller than the wheel mounts. If needed use a hammer to fix the wheels into place. Make sure to not hammer the wheels as that could break them.

Step 3: Making the Seat

Fix the 2 square wooden planks to each other using L brackets. Ideally, place the L brackets on the outside of the seat to ensure maximum strength and comfort. Make sure that the screws do not poke through the seat. Mount the seat onto the main using screws going from the bottom of the main platform into the seat. Can place mounting strips at the bottom of the seat to allow for the usage of longer and more secure screws.

Step 4: Finishing

Sand down all surfaces making sure they are splinter-free. Check that all bolts and screws are tight and reinforce anything that might not be strong enough. Once everything else is done put the steering column through the hole that has been drilled for it and either mount a flat piece of wood to be used as a foot plate or a wooden rod to use as a handlebar. To fix the foot plate into place use nails, and if needed reinforce with a screw. For the handlebar drill a pilot hole into both the steering rod and handlebar after filling their contact patch flat. Use a screw to fix the handlebar into place.

Step 5: All Done, Ride and Enjoy

Step 6: (Optional) Spoiler

Optional you can mount a wing behind the seat. This will make the plank faster and safer. To do this make sure to leave a 5cm gap between the end of the platform and the back of the chair. Fix the wing mounts onto the main platform using screws. The group used a PVC pipe but a piece of wood is better suited as the wing. To mount it simply screw the wooden piece onto the mounts.
