Introduction: Wooden Playing Cards Box
A wooden Box to hold an array of playing cards. Includes an opening to see inside.
Supplies
- 1/8 inch plywood
- Svg file
- Fusion
- Laser Cutter
- Sanding File
Step 1: Ideation
I based my design on similar models on sale online, but I wanted my box to be horizontal instead of vertical to look more aesthetic in my living room side table drawer.
Step 2: Digital Design
I used a video on youtube with my own dimensions to base my model off of. I have designed a sun in my past projects and I love to incorporate it in almost any project I make and thought it would be nice to have an opening to see which card games are inside without having to open the boxes individually.
Step 3: Fabrication
After designing the item on Fusion, I laid it out flat and created it into an SVG file that I then laser-cut. Next time, I would make it a better fit since it was slightly too tight.
Step 4: Finishing
After laser cutting the items, I filed some of the tabs so it would be easier to fit the pieces together. Thankfully, it didn't need any extra support. The final product was achieved.
