Introduction: Working Tank Made of Office Supplies

Are you bored at the office? Are you stuck in one of those "Gotta Make Something" moods? Well, you're in luck! Here is an instructable on how to make a war tank out of office supplies that can actually move and shoot! Here are the Materials you will need to make your tank:
Materials:
-empty box of some sort (ABOUT 2"x6") with all lids cut off but 1
-glue stick cap
-spring operated retractable pen
-a sheet of paper (8.5"x11")
-hot glue gun
-glue sticks for hot glue gun
-any type of tape
-2 toothpicks
-a paper towel roll
-a toilet paper roll
-scissors
-(optional) ruler

Step 1: Step 1: Preparation

Let's start off by putting together the basic aspects you will need to construct your tank.
You'll need to...

-punch a small hole through the single lid of your box (big enough for a toothpick to fit through)

-cut both cardboard rolls in half

-break off the pointy ends of each toothpick either with your hands or the scissors

-hold the white piece of paper portrait, and cut 4 long verticle strips about 1.5" wide

-tape 2 strips of paper together to create a longer strip, and do the same for the other 2

Now you're ready to get started!

Step 2: Step 2: Putting the Body Together

Ok, now let's start putting your tank together!
First you should...

-hot glue one toothpick to the center of the glue stick cap, sticking out (like shown)

-hot glue the other tooth pick on the outside of the glue stick cao (like shown)

-hot glue both halves of the toilet paper roll to the bottom of the box

-stick the glue stick cap with the tooth pick in it, through the hole on top of the box

Now let's add the wheels!

Step 3: Step 3: Adding the Wheels

This part can be a little tricky, so it might take a few tries.

Set up the 2 paper towel roll halves on either side of the body,
underneath the box (like shown). Take a long strip of paper and
wrap it around one side of the rolls and tape it to create the treads
for one side, then do the same for the other side. Make sure to
tape the strips of paper outside, and inside, so they don't get caught
on the paper towel rolls while moving.

You're almost done!

Step 4: Step 4: the Finishing Touches

Now the only thing left to do is add the spring and then test it out!

Take the spring out of the pen by unscrewing the top and popping
it right out. Slip the spring around the toothpick sticking out of the
glue stick cap.
You're done! Now, you can move it back and forth by pulling and
pushing the body. You can shoot it by pulling the spring back, and
then releasing it. (the spring is your ammo)

Congratulations! You've just constructed your own miniature tank
made out of office supplies! Play around with it and discover it's many
uses. Have fun! :D
