Introduction: World's Best Single-Cup Hot Chocolate
Another family favorite, my dad taught me the most amazing hot chocolate making technique known to man. It is very rich and delicious!
It's all based on proportions so just have the ingredients in stock:
- Milk
- Sugar
- Heavy Cream
- Cocoa Powder
- Vanilla Extract
- Your Favorite Mug
Step 1: The Base
Start by adding the dry ingredients. Add two spoonfuls of Cocoa Powder and Sugar each (refer to pictures above). Incorporate well because optimal mixing is required.
Next, add cream up to the halfway point, a small amount at a time. Make sure you mix this together really well because you will get chunks of chocolate otherwise. Add cream and mix until the consistency of pudding.
Step 2: The Finish
Add milk until you are just shy of the brim, leaving enough room for vanilla extract. I usually add the equivalent of a tsp. of vanilla.
Next, the microwave heating is absolutely key! Put in the microwave on high for exactly one minute, stir, then return to the microwave for exactly 45 seconds. This will put your hot chocolate at the optimal sipping temperature. Enjoy!
