Ever wondered what chu jelly taste like? In all likeliness we'll never know for sure, but with this is a fun cute recreation of it you can make your own! Personally i loved the way this came out, but my sister won't eat jello so you all will have to tell you what you think. These little treats would be great fun and simple enough for parties, but still suitable for of the whim situations. This recipe has plenty of elbow room to make it to your tastes so feel free to tell me what you did if you did something different. Without further ado lets get started! ^^

Step 1: Things You'll Need/50 Different Ways to Make This

For the recipe you'll need:

-A bottle of Sprite

-1 or 2 envelopes of Knox(or preferred brand) of unflavored gelatin

-Sugar *optional*

-Food colors of choice

-For aesthetic corked bottles *Also optional but without them its really just flavored jello so*

I'm going with the colors from twilight princess because Tp is my favorite zelda game, but if you like you can do the Wind Waker colors.

A few notes for this recipe. You can use other sodas for this but i used the sprite because it doesn't have a color, but if you want to make all red chu jellies you can get some strawberry faygo. If you want them all green you could use mountain dew. If you do some of these you can determine weather or not it needs the sugar. Most don't, but sprite alone in jello is too tart for my tastes so i added 1/8th a cup of sugar to make a smooth sweet mild melon taste. You can also take the healthier alternative and use juices too. If you want to make these for a more adult oriented party or just cause you need a little alcohol, you could also make them jello shots. I wouldn't be the person to talk to about jello shots though so all i can say is google is your best friend.

You probably want to buy bigger bottles than i did because my smart butt forgot hey you need to fit a spoon into this, but if you like digging out your jello with a knife or popsicle stick go for it. These where only $2 a pop at my hobby lobby so on a whim i bought them.

Also mine is actually jello consistency but if you want jelly that you could drink out of the jar like link use one gelatin packet instead of two.

Step 2: The Actual Work

You'll need to combine 2 cups of sprite with 2 packs of gelatin and 1/8th cup of sugar. Once again the sugar is optional, the sprite interchangeable. Put this on the stove on medium or low heat and mix until the sugar and gelatin mix dissolves. More than likely the sprite will bubble up when you combine the ingredients. This unfortunately makes it a pain to tell if all the sugar and gelatin mix has dissolved on the stove, and its probably best to take the bubbles up with a turkey baster. I had to make due without one.

Step 3: Coloring and Setting

After the mixture is done on the stove put a few drops of food coloring into your bottles. This makes it so you don't have to mix it all up. If your using something that's already colored skip the food color step. Now use a funnel or something with an easy pour spout to get it in the bottles. Cork up your bottles and stick them in the fridge to chill for an hour to three to set.

Step 4: Enjoy!

Your chu jelly is ready to be eaten! Fortunately or unfortunately these jellies wont have magical effects on you, but they'll have a magical effect on your taste buds. Enjoy your jelly!
