Zip3 Pump-Bolt-Action K'nex Gun Preview
Intro: Zip3 Pump-Bolt-Action K'nex Gun Preview
It's offical the Zip series is my most popular knex gun series with Zip2 accumulating about 850 views. So when it comes to designing the next patriarch of my gun family I wanted to aim big, not so much size wise but performance and I definitely hit the mark. This is my most innovative and efficient knex gun I've built so far, featuring: removable preloadable magazines, pump operated bolt action, an extra magazine in the stock, and 40-60ft of range with two rubberbands.Well some other stats of interest:
Pros:
Appearance is big and bold.
Easy and smooth bolt action.
40-60 feet range.
War worthy.
Ergonomic.
Can't complain everything works really well.
Cons:
Three cut rods per magazine. My bad, but not to terrible.
Pump isn't very comfy, but it works well.
Cannot be dry fired.
Uses more pieces than Zip2.
Feel free to ask questions and thanks for looking at my latest Zip3!I will post this gun after Buzzsaw so please stay tuned for more pictures and updates.
Update 6/26/14
Well I have added internals of the latest version of Zip3. The first picture mainly shows the pump assembly and where the extensions to the ram rod go. The second picture shows the magazine in the gun. It shows the rods that attach the pump to the ram rod are right about the magazine, which also allows the gun to be 5 layers thick. The 25 picture is of the chambering mechanism which makes the gun as good as it is.

Haha, sweet job bro. You used my idea of this and made it better. Good job man! The only problem I had with mine was getting it to chamber correctly. Other than that, your's seems to work great.

Its as simple as removing the magazine and firing the gun. Overall though it's cool to see you already had this idea and how somewhat similar they are to each other. They both even store a spare mag in the stock XD!

woah this is awesome must build in place of zip2!!!!

I would highly recommend it! Zip3 beats the Zip2 at everything but rate of fire (because Zip2 could always get a second round out faster due to the double barrel.)
Zip3 is also my best gun thus far. Instructions will be coming out maybe may-ish? I will be out of school then so i'll have time on my hands to post the largest gun I have ever created.... so far.

But yeah, can't wait to see what you come up with, and maybe I'll use your mech or build the gun myself!

Does it use a zkar bolt mechanism?
Does "Cannot be dry fired" mean that the pin breaks? From the pictures, it looks like you could make a very short barrel extension in front of the pin to cover the dead space in front of it.

you still got internal pics for me? Mabye?

Anyway I forgot to touch the upload ible on my phone so the internals hadn't loaded, my bad.
So, now they're up, and if you need more you know where to find me. This gun will be posted... eventually after I perfect it.

This comment is going to sound really rude, so please don't take it that way, but you do realize that not every bolt action gun uses the ZKAR setup, right?
