Introduction: Another Ikea Tv Stand Pax Anes Door

just used a pax anes closet door (90' x 19") for a tv stand top.... liked the finish on it, plus its a good scale for the 50" tv and record player plus speakers...

Step 1:

not much to it, just got some hardwood ply and cut them to fit my needs, 13" high sides to fit my records and 90" long to match the ikea pax anes door i picked up at the 'as-is' bin for $9. then got some glass and sprayed with frosted glass spray from home depot, took a while to get the right coat, then realized the glass was not cut right at lowe's.... decided to go with plexiglass instead, the 'frosted glass' look came out a little less opaque, but it works for my purposes, and remote as well. added some 6" ikea legs as well, will pick up glass door hardware eventually..... working with the frosted spray on plexi was a challenge, make sure you spray immediately right after you peel of the plastic, any smudge will be amplified by the frosted spray....

Step 2: Total Cost

$9 for pax anes top, $35 for hardwood ply including free cutting by home depot, $46 for plexi from lowes or $30 for glass from home depot, $4 for screws, $24 for ikea legs..... total = $144
