Implementation of two way communication

Hi, I'm working on a project where we're working on a tele-operated robot and we are looking to include the ability to have a conversation. We would be looking to use earbuds and a microphone on the operator side and a speaker and microphone on the robot side. Does anyone know how to go about implementing this? It needs to be hands free on both ends as the operators arms are being mapped to the robots arms. Thank you.

Q1: Is their a way to download all the Instructables that I have favorite-ed? Q2: I was also wondering if their is a way to view my all my favorite-ed things in one web page. eg (like in a list form.) How to control DIY linear actuator with end switches and sensor input?

I want to build a DIY 12v DC linear actuator, using Arduino uno. The actuator is DIY so it does not have any position tracking. I want to use 2 relays to control the direction of the actuator, two end switches, and one sensor input (preferably a photo resistor) The sensor, and end switches are connected to Arduino UNO R3 as inputs and relays as outputs. When the sensor is energized motor moves forward until it hits End Switch No 1 and stops; When the sensor its not energized motor moves backwards until it hits End Switch No 2 and stops: And be able to repeat this program whenever  the sensor is energized. I would be greatly appreciate if someone can help me with this sketch, because i don't have any experience with Arduino code. Thank you and have a grat day.

Detecting Very Slight Tendon Movements In Wrist

I've always had an intense fascination for lucid dreaming. Finding ways to communicate or control outside devices based off the slight body movements that are possible despite the natural paralysis during sleep is a topic of great interest to me. I have several LDs (lucid dreams) each night and through much experimentation have found that with a bit of concentration, I could move my fingers enough to trigger very sensitive buttons (if placed perfectly before falling asleep) or to grip myself (if my hand is placed say, near my neck before intentionally entering a dream from waking) such that the sensation of my fingers reaching my neck would wake me. These experiments were proof enough that if I perhaps had some sort of glove or wrist mounted piezo sensors that are able to detect the individual tendon/finger movements with high enough sensitivity, combined with software that can parse patterns and reliably filter out minor unintentional simultaneous movements for the fingers that are prone to movement when others nearby are moved, it would be possible to establish one way communication with outside devices, the Internet, etc. Input could be in the form of different patterns or even text (tap code, morse code, or through a hybrid allowing use of each digit of the hands) or musical notes (each finger representing a note of a scale with a finger or two used to change octave or to toggle sustain.) As a musician who "writes" his best music within his dreams, this could be quite handy for getting melodies down before they vanish from memory on waking. For example, to activate input, you could perform a simple pattern that is unlikely to be triggered unintentionally. It could be as easy as left thumb flex, right thumb flex repeated in that order several times. From this point, you could use another pattern to choose to trigger an alarm (sound, vibration or electrical shock), or to initiate musical or text recording. There are many different uses that could be explored, and it might even be possible that 2 way communication could be established if a reliable method of transmitting to the dreamer without waking them could be created. This is however beyond the scope of my intentions. I have suffered from sleep paralysis on a nightly basis for over a decade now which can be extremely frightening and last up to several minutes, and during this time I am able to move my fingers as well as shake my head back and forth (which I need to do to break out otherwise the paralysis will persist until I'm pulled into a nightmare.) My solution to these terrifying experiences was wearing a heart rate monitor with an alarm that goes off past a certain BPM, which only happens when I am frightened. Now that I am so used to these experiences, my heart rate does not increase enough that I can reliably use it as a trigger without also waking myself out of exciting dreams that I'd rather not have prematurely terminated. I am fairly confident that a device such as this could help with breaking out of my paralysis at will and PERHAPS even be sold commercially to other sufferers of this condition, however niche the market. Giving me control over my sleep paralysis alone would be a highly satisfactory result with significant quality of life improvements and be worth the effort of building this. Waking up partners in bed with my head thrashing is less than ideal! As an avid software programmer, I do not think that the code involved would be terribly difficult. However, I have very little electrical knowledge and building this without existing plans would be tough and time consuming. It would be enough to have a pressure/flex voltage for each digit transmitted to a Raspberry Pi or via Bluetooth to a computer and the rest could be done through software. My questions are.. Does a commercial device exist that would be suitable for my purposes and not be terribly expensive? Perhaps a glove? Is a wrist strap with piezo sensors over each tendon that control the fingers a realistic possibility to achieve my goals? I do not need to know the position of the fingers or whether it is pushing against something. Just that movement is being attempted. Do existing plans exist to create a similar device? Thank you!

Dido and the rules are simple the egg must be visible at all times. I was thinking maybe in a bottle filled with water. The egg will be supplied and it should be easy enough to make in 1 or 2 periods of school. Thats about 1-1hour 45min. and I can't be under it to catch it with a sheet. It is a raw egg. What happened to the Instructable Photo Editor?

When adding photos to an Instructable the photo has a "view/edit" link on the imported photo.  Clicking it used to take you to a photo editor to crop, adjust, color correct annotate, etc.  Now the link only lets you view the photo. Has the photo editor gone away or is it located somewhere else.  It was so  nice to be able to edit photos via the Instructable website as needed.   Thanks,

Can an engineer advise on requirements to build a laser scanner?

How do i write an Arduino code for transfer of vibration data to a pc via bluetooth?

Hi, I am currently attempting to build a circuit for a college module that would use vibration data from a dc motor then send it to a microprocessor before transferring the data via Bluetooth to a pc. 24v 250w e bike runs only 1 km with 2x 12v & ah batteries what is the reason and solution.

Hi, I made a e-bicycle project . I Have used a DC motor (My 1016,24v, 250 W )and using 2 nos of lead acid battery 2 x 12 V (7 ah/Battery). Here the problem is that the motor rotate the back wheel of bicycle(28")easily without any load but when the load applied  it runs only 1(one) k.m after that it runs nearly zero (torque produced only 10%)i checked the battery voltage it shows 11.8&11.9volts . i have done this 5 times but stil the results are same.checked the motor,chain, throttle.my weight is 50 Kg.Will you help me? bala

need a cheap way to use a servo and switch on LED's with a remote

I need to move a small servo left and right and have it stay where I leave it and power 1 or 2 sets of lights with a simple remote but I have no idea how to achieve this apart from use a radio control transmitter/receiver and an electronic speed controller. I see there are lots of little devices out there that could work but being a noob at electronics I'm not too sure what will work. I found this, would something similar to that work? It is 12v, my servos would only take about 6v max though, same with the LED's, I suppose I could use something to lower the voltage output? Cheers.

Resistor for NPN Transistor Base? Answered

Hey all, I need help identifying the value of the resistor I would need for the base of a 2n2222a transistor in this circuit. If you need any additional information, ask and ill try to answer asap. The resistance of the relay coil is 106 ohms and its rated for 6v but I operate it at 5v. The 3.3v is supplied by a step down circuit connected to the same power supply as the 5v used to operate the relay. If you can, please also list the steps you took to calculate the value of the resistor so that it can be useful for future use, I couldn't find a simple answer online. Ty,

HOME LED POT LIGHT WIRING?

Is it better to run 120v wiring to each pot, or run 2 wire 18 gauge cable to a central box. LED's are 12v 3w dimable. I would like to dim from 2 to 10 pots per switch. Where would I put the transformer. Could you suggest a  wiring diagram.

what can i do with a broken LED projector?

I have a broken LG PA70G projector, it has a blue-ish image even when in the menu of the projector, and i'm thinking to repurpose it/ use it for something else. It's out of warranty so i don't care about it. The problem with it is that it started to get hot until one of the RGB connections got burned to ash. The rest is working fine. Any ideas what i could do with it?

How to create motor or generator resistance system for exercise machine?

Researching a method to use resistance from a motor or generator for an exercise machine.  There is an axle from which both foot and arm levers extend, so there is rotation, but only about a half turn in each direction, so very low speed, and back and forth.  I have used magnets and eddy current and flywheel from exercise bikes, geared up with a belt.  This works ok, but does not provide enough resitance even when magnets are adjusted very close to flywheel (due to low speed of rotation). I hope to find something already built and available for a similar application, but can locate parts and build it if I understand how.  Resistance must be variable from low to very strong and controllable so user can adjust it.  I have DC motor, and shorting the cord greatly increases the drag, but how do I vary/control it?  Would adding resistance between the wires in the cord increase drag and make it harder to turn?  I have experimented with this and it does not seem to have an impact.  Thanks for your help.

How could I convert a physical book into an ebook?

I have some books that I would like to make into ebooks so that i can carry them around and read them more conveniently. I would prefer not to use a scanner, partly because mine is not very good and also because a few of my books are somewhat fragile and I do not want to damage the spines on them. I do have a very nice digital SLR camera if there is something I could do with that. thanks for the help

I want to interface my pressure sensor which uses RS485 communication protocol to send data to arduino. What can I do?

I am using a keller pressure sensor(http://www.keller-druck.com/home_e/paprod_e/33x_35x_e.asp) which works on RS485 communication protocol to send the data. I used the following kellerbus code : https://github.com/thewknd/kellerbus with my arduino but, am not able to interface it. I am thinking of purchasing an RS485 to TTL converter module and I will be writing the code of serial communication on my arduino to retrieve the TTL data. Will it work? If not, please suggest some other method. Thank You.

Programming XMC1100 from Windows10 on a MacBook Pro doesn't work ?

Hello, I'm trying to get a connection between my Microcomputer XMC1100 and my Windows10 Partition on a MacBook Pro. I've installed the recommended development environment Dave from Infineon and everything works fine except the connection to the microcomputer. Is this connection maybe due to hardware not possible?  What else could be the reason ? Please help, regards

new to arduino, want to run a dual display for 2 sensors

solar install question

Ok so I see a few solar setups online. now I have been researching for a while on this and no one can give me the answers so here i go on here. So i want an UPGRADE-ABLE solar setup. right now I have 2 150ah 12v batteries. I have multiple 50 amp charge controllers. so when I buy the solar panels I can plug in and get batteries going no problem.... My issue is the mains voltage side of things. I want to have something like a fuse box, this will have my main breaker and then the independent safety switches. the issue is to do this I need to make sure all my power is on 1 line. so if I buy a few small inverters I will not be able to piggyback them as they tend to go bang. so what type of inverter can I get that will be able to go in parrallel to allow me to get more amps if needed? I am hoping there is one that is infinitely upgradeable just in case. TLDR what type of off-grid inverter allows parrallel connection to other inverters??

Wiring LEDs to Corresponding Switches?

I am looking to wire a lot of 12v LEDs to a lot of LED switches. Each light up switch would light up a single corresponding LED and all would be powered by the same power source preferably. Can anyone help me map out a circuit set up for this? I am making a prop for a film and need the help of an expert!

HDMI from LCD connector

Hi, At work I have an ultrasonic testing instrument that displays the signal on an LCD (640x480). I also have a HUD (head mounted display) that requires a HDMI input. The only way I can think of getting the 2 working is to put a camera over the display and send that to the HUD. Would anyone know of a way to connect something to the LCD ribbon directly and convert it to HDMI? Many thanks for any help provided.

LED indicator for A/V selector

Hi! A while ago, i made an A/V selector, and it worked quite well. It had a small design issue, which is, having the ports at the front, where the switches are, and I want to upgrade it a little bit. The idea is, put on the front the switches with a LED on each input, and when I switch the selected input, the selected LED will also light. I've been looking around, and the A/V voltages are around 1 volt. The switch I have, it can handle 3 circuits at the same time (Video, Left and Right) but it has 3 rows as a conmutator or something. The thing is, i need your help in order to connect the LED. I've been thinking about using the unused row of the switch, but I don't know how, or, place a transistor when the Video input comes across the switch, but I don't know what kind of transistor will do. TurboCAD .stl file dropped into Cura is auto enlarged 10,000%

I drew up a part in TurboCAD saved it as a STL and dropped it into Cura. Cura enlarged the part 10,000 % Why is that? What did I do wrong?

circuit board repair question

This little audio input jack broke off a circuit board.  I'm wondering if anyone knows what I need to do to fix it? You can see that there are 4 metal connectors which I assume a soldiering iron can easily fix.  But there is also an orange strip that snapped off of the little orange baseball home plate-shaped tab on the bottom of the jack.  Does anyone know what that is and the best way to repair it?  (The loose strand is right by where it says "CN6" on the board) I don't know anything about circuitry but was going to borrow a friend's soldiering iron. Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction! Phillip

How to make a display screen for a web cam/any digital camera?

Hi, i am an amateur, so sorry if this question has already been answered or is very basic!! I am looking for a way to stream the camera feed on screen. My only criterion is to make it as simple as possible. Something which displays the camera feed on a monitor/screen/display of around 10" with a hit of a button. I am avoiding using an off the shelf android tabs or security cams as it involves a third party app, setting up the device, keeping device updated and all such steps. I want to avoid that. can someone please help?

How do i make LEDs flash to tempo?

Ok, when I was djing at a party i thought of this cool idea of the LEDs flashing to tempo, and when the music changed (for example, 120bpm to 140bpm) the LEDs would change tempo with the music. And if it was even possible, link the arduino with Virtual DJ  so when the music changes and so does the tempo and so does the lights. Its confusing and all over the place but it would be amazing if it was possible to link to virtual DJ.

any possible way to make this led ring flash run off of a usb power bank?

I have a  MK FC-110 LED Macro Ring Flash that runs off 4 AA batteries, is there any way to add a usb wire and make it also be able to run off a power bank? please let me know thank you.
