Hi I was wondering if it were possible to replace a standard gameboy advance sp screen with a newer, larger screen and how I would go about doing something like that. Thanks!

What would be the best way to make a wireless display? A display that can be carried around (within like 30ft which seems to be fairly standard for wireless). It would need some batteries to power it I imagine, but I have no idea how you would go about sending and receiving the video signal. If anyone has any ideas, that would be great! Not a laptop, just a display, no other functions.

Well, i took apart my mp3 to put it in a "lego case", but it won't fit in. So, the only thing i can do is to remove the screen (it's totally broken so I don't plan to cut a hole in the case for it). My question is, if I remove it, would the mp3 still work? thanks.

Soft LED display is our Patent product(Chinese National Patent), as is shown that the screen can be folded, curved and transformed, it can be applied any shape, like circle, arch, or even right-angle. Most importantly, it is light-weighted and easy installation, one square meter just weight about 5 kgs, and the whole system can be hung on the truss or on the building. And it can be expanded through connecting several pieces of soft LED display together to make a larger screen as you want. Through one and a half years developing, we make immense improvement and solve all important problem. We use the cloth processed specially, so it is waterproof completely, fire retardant and strong enough. (although the both sides is all waterproof, we sign it IP44, because we do not recommend our customer to use the screen in the open air all the time.) We develop this kind of product mainly applying to stage, TV studio, concert, night bar and disco hall. Attached a small video and some picture, please check it, through video and picture you can find the characteristic of our soft LED screen. We are eagerly hoping that we can cooperate with your distinguished coperation, and hope that our product can satisfy you with its light-weight, easy installation, foldability and flexibility, I think it is your best choice.Contact info: Fisher(sales manager) Beijing Huasun Optoelectronic Science Co., Ltd Add: Yongshun Town, Tongzhou District, Beijing, P.R.China Tel:+86 10 89512349 Fax: +86 10-89512339 mobile : 0086+13146411249 http://www.huasun-tech.com E-mail: email@example.com MSN:firstname.lastname@example.org skype: fisher201223

Hi I had the greates luck finding an old laptop screen in a dumpster at school (they're currently changing computers, dumping the old ones). When I got home I also found a Video to VGA converter, which made me think - can I somehow connect these two into a working screen for let's say an old nintendo? Either that or I go back to find a compatible motherboard and videocard and rewire it somehow - but it most rather not. So, any ideas for how to make it work as a screen? :) Fact: - IBM 12,1" TFT screen branded M360 - Konig Video to VGA converter Sorry for the bad images, Ipads camera kina sucks :)

I know this is not a new though and people have been asking on this forum. However I didn't find a similar solution to mine and thus I would like to ask for the possibility of success. Situation: A laptop, fully working, a desktop monitor, fully working also Want: A wireless VGA between the laptop and the monitor, so I can use my laptop in one side of my room, while having the monitor sits in other corner, within 5 meter Proposed solution: A wireless kit http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/ez430-rf2500.html, so one end attaches to the VGA port of the laptop, of course a a simple will be needed to input the VGA signal into the microcontroller. The receiver will also be attached to the desktop monitor with an appropriate circuit. is it a possible solution? if so, what could the appropriate circuit be please?

My brother loves drawing and he has a friend who has something called a bamboo pad. It doesn't have a screen which is why I found it questionable. So we thought we might look for a touch screen he could use. We had very little luck finding one that seemed like it fit the purpose. Even those bamboo peoples' didn't look like they would do anything other than lines. So we have a question. Is it actually fairly easy to use a bamboo pad, and if not, what touch-screen could he use.

I set up an extra monitor on a shelf so that I can watch video from bed. Now i'm looking for some full screen applications i can keep it busy with, and was hoping some of you have ideas? Think along the lines of clocks (but not a clock, or digital picture frame). Volume bars that work via the computers mic or a flash RSS reader would be cool. Thanks!

Hi all, I'd appreciate some feedback on my UV screen project. As a relatively new blog I have effectively zero traffic there, so I thought I'd ask for some feedback here. The goal of the project is to provide an easy way of converting a record player to a UV screen (as pictured). The idea is to replicate the appearance "Death calls the tune" project by Lab Binaer, although I'm avoiding using an arduino in an attempt to keep costs down. The ultimate goal is an instructable, but before that stage I hope to work a bit more on the available functionality (currently it will just write text to the screen, each phrase being written alternately in one of three positions). Here are some planned but as-yet unimplemented short term goals; Investigate replacing the serial connection with V-USB New modes (Bar graph output , Seismograph style output, Spiral text) New stylus using SMD LEDs (currently uses 5mil) Offload all settings to XML file Slow rotor speed further I'd be appreciative if you could offer ideas for new functionality, uses, modifications, any thoughts or comments. Thanks, Drew

Hi all, I would like to make a video panel that would take up a big portion of the wall in my house. I would like to output various visualization on to it, so it needs to be connected to a computer. Something similair to advertisment panels you see here and there; or store displays. What would be the cheapest way to achieve that? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I want to do green screen effects with a picture, but run into problems since I don't have a green screen. I have seen the XBOX 360 game "You're in the movies" which does this by taking a picture of the background to be keyed out without anybody there. So, as my question states, I want to find a program to do this effect.

The screen on my hp ze4900 lap top is very dark. I can still see it a little but not very much. Is my bulb or is my inverter going out or is it something else. I did not hear a hum and I am not sure about a red glow. I can still see the screen a little but it is very difficult to see. If I shine a light on it I can see it or if it is very dark I can kind of see it. I know there is a "how to take the bulb out and fix it in instructables" but I just wondering if it might be another thing? Also, how do you take the screen apart on this model? Thanks, Carmitsu

Hi everyone! I have a spare working 3DS screen (a friend of mine thought that her screen was broken, so she ordered a new one, and it turns out the problem wasn't solved so it didn't came from the screen, and she told me I could keep it if I wanted to). I'd like to know how I could use it in various projects, for debugging or for a more long term use. I don't need 3D (anyway I assume this wouldn't be possible unless I write a driver). Is it possible to add a VGA port? A HDMI or USB (I don't think that USB screens exists, but hey, we're on Instructables, everything is possible here ^^) Thanks for your help Please keep in mind that my knowledge in Electronics is not huge, as I study it for only two years in college, and now I only study Computer Technology. And also note that I'm French, I know my English speaking isn't perfect, so feel free to ask me to clarify any point that is not correct in your language

Can I replace an HP Mini 311 or 210 HD netbook screen with the HP Envy’s 15” 1920 x 1080 screen? I can order the netbook and the Envy’s screen with both the power inverter and the display cable from HP’s website. My ultimate goal is to make a super tablet like this one here: It should work right, as long as the display cable is the same and I use the Envy's power inverter?

Hi Guys. I've seen a print ad that had a plastic 'zigzaggy' decoder gizmo stuck to it, that I could peel off and use to 'decode' media as I slid the plastic over my screen, over a particular picture on their website. The refraction of the plastic would 'decode' the image. What on earth would this kind of mechanism be called? I'm trying to Google 'something' of a how-to... Not having found anything, I'm turning to the craftiest bunch I know ;) Thanks for your help.

I want to reuse an LG LCD phone screen that was from an old phone. I want to have it as a notification window style screen for my computer or a twitter feed. Or something like that. Is there any way that I can do this easily? I'm a beginner at any type of coding or hands on building. So any tutorial that is descriptive would be nice. The LCD's are from an LG Chocolate 2 on Verizon and an LG NTLG300GB on Net10 and are both color displays. Any project to make it be able to connect to the computer and have text sent to it. Thanks, Alex

Hey, I've been having a problem recently. I don't know if any one else is having this problem, or if anyone could help. I'm using Ubuntu as my OS. When I go to watch videos in Hulu and I click full screen, it briefly goes full screen (just long enough to see the hit escape to exit notification) then goes back to normal view. Does anyone know how to fix this? NOTE: I already tried disabling Cairo-Dock and it didn't help at all. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, While playing with a lenticular, animated ruler. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenticular_printing) I had a bout of sudden inspiration. what if I applied that to a monitor. I am aware there's some 3d stuff out there using that trick but honestly it's a bit crappy and not really what I want to try. What my idea is a flat screen monitor that displays a different image depending on if you're looking at it head on, or 45 degrees from the left/right side. It'd be nice for a photo display or multiplayer gaming. The tricky part is splicing 3 monitors to display different images (I was thinking a triple vga out and layering it all but I'm still a bit of a newb when it comes to this stuff. What would you guys suggest would be the most efficient way to get it all set up and working?

Dear Techfreaks, I have a rather technical question for you guys. I have a big, company-suited coffee machine which I'd like to mod, to be internet connected. My idea is to read the LCD screen of the machine, by intercepting the wires, and interpreting the signals with a microcontroller. I'd need to read the data, and convert it into ASCII, so I can drop them on a website, and in fact have a (sort of live) view of the LCD. The used LCD is a standard 16x2, 16-pin LCD. Does anyone have any experience with doing this? Or any tips? I couldn't find a project online which wanted to do the same thing as I did. Thanks in Advance, Willem.

Hello I hope that all of you are fine. I recently bought a second hand HP Pavilion laptop from eBay… when I received it I came to know that there was a problem with the wifi reception… I intended it to repair myself… so I unscrewed the LCD and came to know that the connections for the wifi were broken, so I soldered them, while doing so small bead of molten soldering wore fell on the LCD, but only damaged the plastic protection and found no dead pixels when it was turned on after fixing it… the windows started up pretty good… got the wifi signals as well but after a minute or so… one or two pixel size dots appeared on the LCD and after that the blue screen appeared… I tried to restart the laptop again but the blue screen appeared every time restarted it. I tired to restore the laptop, fix the startup, also tried to run the safe mode, but everything was useless as I got blue screen every time… the laptop manages to operate in safemode with command prompt only once and as I tried to restore the system the blue screen appeared again… further more it sometimes gets past the windows loading in the widows repair section but when it loads the resolution changes and I get a blue screen again… it also hanged while repairing setup for the windows was operating... So a lot of different hang ups… but 99% of the time I got blue screen on all the options available… I am attaching the blue screen that I usually get… it would be so nice of you if you could guide me and help me fix my computer. Please see the attached pic Kind Regards Raishikoh

I have some old laptops that do not have the speed needed for today's internet but I would like to 'harvest' their screens which are in excellent shape. Is there a way to separate and rewire so that I could use the screens as second lcd's for my existing computers?
I'd like to reuse the lcd screen from a very dead Dell Inspiron laptop(14"screen) as a remote monitor (wired) for my netbook. I guess what I need is a schematic for the screen leads and to create a power cable and a 15 pin moniter cable. Anyone ever tried this ? Al
