Device for touching a touch screen? Answered

I need a type of solenoid/servo device capable of moving a few millimeters at a fast speed. I am building a device that will tap a touchscreen for me via an electric signal (In this case, and arduino.) they need to be relatively cheap and small. I will have four of them evenly spaced over four inches (They need to be no wider than an inch, would much prefer they be less than a half inch in width. Height isn't important, and length should also be under an inch.) They also need to be fairly weak, i dont want one of them punching a hole in my tablets screen by accident. Doesn't need to be controlled by PWM, either off (Not touching) or on (Touching) will work fine. Please do leave links along with the name of the device/part.

Electric touch...

Good day!I have a special problem and I am not even sure this is the right place where to ask for help... I have carpet in my office and by walking around I get charged like a battery (electrostatic)...Often I touch someone and I get a shock! (Also the other person, at least I am not the only one...) This is pretty strong some times and annoying most of the times so I thought maybe I can make (or maybe it exists already) a bracelet or a ring or anything with a LED or with any kind of resistance that I could wear and it could "decharge" me. I think I can figure out how to make something fancy but I am not that, lets say, skilled in electronic and I don't know what would actually do the job. Am I the only one with such problem? Does anyone have any idea?

Hi, I was wondring what is wrong with a ipod touch 4g that suffered minor impact trama (no cracks on lcd or screen). When you press the lock button, the screen turns on, but it has a lot of white thin lines going down it and the picture looks distorted. You can unlock it, but it still has the lines and the screen is still distorted. Can you tell me the physical problem and solution please?

Doornob touch sensor

I took apart a stud finder to see how it worked. Did a quick google search and figured out they work similar to tough sensitive lamps (capacitance). So after soldering an on off switch to replace the push button on it, I taped it to my door, and fine tuned the sensitivity wheel. Now when someone touches the doorknob (on either side of the door), It lights ups.

Drawing With A Touch-Screen?

My brother loves drawing and he has a friend who has something called a bamboo pad.  It doesn't have a screen which is why I found it questionable.  So we thought we might look for a touch screen he could use.  We had very little luck finding one that seemed like it fit the purpose.  Even those bamboo peoples' didn't look like they would do anything other than lines.  So we have a question.  Is it actually fairly easy to use a bamboo pad, and if not, what touch-screen could he use.

gentle touch activated sound?

I have a little toy that makes noise when you squeeze it that I want to give as a Christmas present, but tiny little hands have trouble doing the squeezing properly, so I want to do a little surgery on it so that the sound activates with just a gentle touch instead.  Such as if you flick it, pet it, pick it up... that sort of thing.  I know when I was little, we had a doll that was supposed to make noises when played with, but it was so sensitive that it would go off from just the blow of our AC.  My problem is, I've no idea what parts I need to do this.  Can anybody help point me in the right direction?  And I only have about a three inches to work in, so it needs to be fairly small. Thanks.

Touch panel for 17" LCD

Hey guys, I have an old 17" Laptop with an awesome screen and good speakers, but it's WAY too slow for any of the production work I do, and a little too damaged to be worth anything. So I was thinking about turning it into a stationary tablet computer for the kitchen. The type on a stand with nothing but a touchscreen. Problem is, I can't find any 17" touch overlays :( It's wide screen, 36,9x23,2mm Does anyone know where I can find one? Would be cool if it's a complete kit with USB output. It can be an external overlay or just the components, and it doesn't have to match 100%, a few mm off doesn't matter.

Laptop Display Upgrade to Touch?

I wish to upgrade my Laptop Display from Non Touch to Touch. I did a bit of research on the internet, but am unable to find a proper answer. Is it possible? I would love to migrate from half HD non touch display to full HD touch display (even IPS). But here in India, I'm unable to find it in this config for 15.6" size (atleast, not cheaply). I have found one display which has a few things common with my old display. Both have TFT with LED Backlight, same size, aspect ratio, resolution and no of pins. Old Display: 15.6 inch TFT with LED Backlight (Non touch) (16:9). Resolution: 1366 x 768. 40 Pins. Part Number: B156XW04V5 Datasheet: Cost: ₹5000 ($75 approx) Proposed New Display: 15.6 inch TFT with LED Backlight (Touch) (16:9). Resolution: 1366 x 768. 40 Pins. Part Number: B156XTT01 Datasheet: Cost: ₹12500 ($180 approx) Would I need to change LVDS cable as well? Existing LVDS Cable: Part Number: P5LJ0 Datasheet: Here are the answers to some questions you might have: 1. Laptop is Acer Aspire TimelineX 5830TG. 2. My Laptop did not have any variant with 1080p display or touch display. 3. The old display is slightly cracked. Hence I need to change it anyway. 4. The top flap, display mounting brackets and bezel are damaged too. And the laptop is 5 years old and am unable to get the replacement parts. Hence I am planning on building a new housing for the new display, in any case. (Suggestions in this regard are also welcome) So a bit of variation in physical dimensions is not a problem. 5. Motherboard is Intel i5 2410M with Intel 3000 graphics processor. Graphics Card is Nvidia 540M. (I couldn't find supported resolutions on official websites, but according to 3rd Party websites, both should support 1080p) 6. I have some experience with Electronic Disassembly and Assembly. 7. I can do soldering, but I'm not very good at it. Hence, would like to avoid it, if possible.

IPod touch to external monitor?

I'm building an all inclusive ipod touch case, including solar panels, external speaker, stylus, rechargeable battery, etc. However,  I was looking at an 8 by 4 inch monitor that would enable me to at the very least watch videos on it. I'm sure it's possible, because the touch has cables capable of taking its 30 pin signal and converting it to rca for connection to a standard tv. The real question then I guess would be, is there any chance of me being able to hook it up to a touchscreen one and/or be able to have it display the springboard instead of just dedicated video out signals. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
