Let's say that you have an idea for making a videogame. You are good with 3D software, designing, game flow, you are creative, and you are a programming GOD. What woud you dream game be? Would it be a simple arcade or a puzzle game? Or would it be a complex RPG or action game? Would it have a story? Are you even working on it now? Do you have artwork or ideas you wish to share? Remember-it is your dream game. It's whatever you want it to be.

I've gotten so used to having my links, toolbars etc where they are, that i though "What would it be like to use someone else's customised Firefox?" Hence the topic. So go ahead and post a screenshot of your customised Firefox, call it a social experiment. It doesn't matter how over or under the top it is, I'm just curious to see. I'll get the ball rolling on this one...

Here's half an idea - a ring that displays text messages. It might look like nothing more than a ring at first glance, but this finger-worn device can sync with your mobile phone. It has a vibratory alert and a tiny screen that shows caller ID, text messages, and meeting reminders from your mobile. Flip it open and it converts into a headset. In the image, the screen looks glued on, but I guess that it could easily be a small piece of epaper. As for being an ear-piece, I can't see how it would end up large enough to be comfortable or practical, yet still start off small enough to wear as a ring. Now, if the some idea was expanded to a bangle, then an entire phone could be built into a bracelet small and slim enough to be discrete. Now the embarrassing bit: I got this story off MSN...

I am wondering, is it remotely, even possible to use a PS2-slim (SCPH-75001) model# shown; but -- can I use it with 802.11 bandwidth signals just like a computer? I figure that.* ...But, I don't know how to do it, the right way --- even though I've heard of several different methods to do so. Is this possible. firstname.lastname@example.org

Asus, a sponsor of Instructables, has put together WePC where they are asking for input on their next generation laptops. As part of their sponsorship, they've asked my opinion on various aspects of laptops. Most recently Ways to customize your laptop? I just had a call with some of the people at Asus this morning, and they are actively finalizing the list of features for the community-designed laptop. So, if you still have a suggestion, head over to WePC and submit! I've written before about how I think customization makes a laptop attractive, and how my favorite way to customize laptops is with a laser etcher. However, I realize not everyone yet has access to a laser. So, what are some other non-traditional (i.e. stickers) ways to customize your laptop?Whiteboard material -- you could use it as a giant, oversized to-do list! Make sure to include a snapping plastic cover to protect your notes from being rubbed off.Neon message board laptop -- a neon message board is a erasable luminescent whiteboard-like surface that is illuminated from the edge; they are often seen is restaurants showing specials. Use the laptop's backlight for the illumination, and broadcast your message or design with fluorescent markers.Magnetic surface -- magnetic laptop poetry.Corkboard -- Remember to always use the flush thumb-tacks!Chalkboard -- perhaps a little dusty, but you could probably end meetings early by "accidentally" running your fingernails across it.The cool thing about all of these materials (perhaps excluding the corkboard) is that they could easily fit into the minimalist, clean-lined laptops that have become the norm. But, they allow you to really be expressive when you need a splash of something unique to break you out of a funk -- or just a note to pick up milk.

I found a broken cell phone with it’s camera and wondered if the lens could be used as a microscope objective. Image A shows the lens and it’s mounting with the CCD. The back of the lens is shown. The lens is about 4 to 5 mm in diameter. The starters from florescent lights make good lens holders. Image B shows a starter along with my modifications to hold the cell camera lens. The starter tube has 4 slits along the length so it can be compressed to fit the turret of the microscope. Image C shows it mounted on the turret. Image D shows the resulting view of a feather. It’s quite bad. Image E shows, for comparison, the view through an ordinary 20x objective (.40 NA). Here are some more lenses that I tried: Lens from a discarded flatbed scanner..... Very good! Lens from a 8mm movie camera...... Fair. Lens from the laser pickup of a discarded CD player..... Almost worthless. To take pictures through the microscope, I used eyepiece projection with a wide angle eyepiece. The lens on the camera was set to wide angle and maximum aperture, with a remote used to trigger the shutter. The camera’s LCD was used to focus and adjust the image. The camera’s autofocus handles the rest. For even illumination, be sure to center the objective lens over the substage condenser.

Here I have made a PPT presentation for making lamps, moodlights or whatever out of your monitors. I got the idea by seeing that holding a magnifying glass in front of my monitor gave a clean but tiny image on my wall, but the rest was bright and blurry like a moodlight. The file is given below. Save it, open it and use it.

Great project Steve! my dad lives offgrid in the high desert of oregon: state thus far he uses several dc mills and solar panels.i greatly look forward to building this project with him in the future.also i wanted to compliment you on your willingness to explain and re-explain already stated facts......i first read and looked at your steps then took the time to read all the "Q&A" (yeah all 562 of them).after having done so i have no questions other than how large is your bank and what type of batteries did you go with?(we started with a bank of 32 12v ,but are now replacing them with long life deep cycle 6v cells)<large investment cost has us gathering them a few at a time.its great to see so many people gaining interest in going green. This project is without a doubt the best mill ive seen and your patience/willingness to let others pic your brain and promptly kick back thorough and accurate answers is commendable..most prodigous!looking forward to checking out all the links you provided. best personal regards, Luke A.R.S KV7M

I happened to log onto ADAfruit today in the 10 min that they had some of the new (and sold out everywhere) Raspberry Pi 2's. I picked one up because I'm curious about the new Windows 10 (mobile if I understand correctly) support...that and they are flat out awesome. I want to know the your favorite Pi project. Either one you've seen or build. Links are encouraged!

It seems incredible that the technology that went into building the first successful satellite 50 years ago can now be found lying around the average house. You could even build one yourself, as Paul Rubens explains below. Fancy having a go?http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/7049002.stm
