how do you make body armor?

How do you make ballistics Armour plates similar to plates used in the military for personal home protection. Is there a material I can purchase over the counter that would be light weight and have similar ballistics protection?

Where to get this body armor design made or how to make it?

I have a design for original body armor, but I don't know where to buy it or get it built. Think of a nomex survival suit, but Dragon Skin and Kevlar for fabric covering underneath armor, 2nd layer U.S.A. brand or Japanese exoskeleton suit with titanium caseing, 3rd layer graphene and dragon skin for plates covering entire body like a full body mold but cut in pieces for flexibility. Where can I get this built or how can I build it precisely. It will last against a FN FAL. I live in McAllen Texas. I prefer professionally made, so any suggestions. I have no budget.

How can I control hydraulic pistons using myoelectric (muscle signal) sensors ?

Hello, this is my first post. I've run into a problem. I've designed an exoskeletal armor system, yet don't know how to control it. I have an approximate idea; using myoelectric sensors on the major muscles of the arms, torso, and legs, it will track and replicate muscle movement patterns through hydraulic pistons in the suit. Problem being; I don't know how to activate the pistons using this method. I don't even know if you can attach the pistons to a micro controller the sensors are hooked up to. Any information that may help is appreciated. I am in no way a professional after all, and this is my most ambitious design yet. Certainly to be the most complicated, expensive, and tasking build I've done too. I will upload the designs whenever possible, as I have no scanner at this time.

Iron man- is he possible?

Hi. I was watching the iron man movie recently when I wondered if it really was possible to construct a suit of Armour like that. All technology behind the Armour welcome to be discussed. Any attempts made to make any of the technology would be nice to know about. thank you

Suggestions for bonding PVC sheets to ABS sheets, for composite armor?

I have a crazy idea for making tough plates out of thermoplastics. Does anyone have any ideas for bonding PVC to ABS plastic? Two materials will add to the strength and durability of the plate. If possible I would also like to sandwich some kind of fibers in between the two plates, such as carbon fiber. Does anyone have any ideas on this? I was planning on heat forming the sheets, then maybe pressing them together at high heat, but an easier method would be appreciated.

Anyone can tell me what's the smallest acutator/(stepper-)motor for angle of about ~45° ?

Was just a fixed idea and i'm not really into electronics yet, but i wondered, if it was possible to make bigger panels with tiny motors that move metal stripes/chips to form shifting shapes. Maybe just think of iron man's self-mounting armor or fish swarms for example, but in a smaller way, say as tiny as possible, but affordable (hehe).

How to Build combat suit? What materials are needed for bulletproofing? Cheapest materials that can be used safely? Answered

I have some designs I'm mainly looking for recommendations and references for the materials needed. Also need some advice on kinetic energy replacement for high drops and jumps. Frame material needs to be light weight and strong. Outer armor will be interchangeable. Weapons are still in development more posted later. Also all metals must be nonferrous.

Can Anyone Please Explain This To Me ? Answered

I saw this video of a guy who made a metal iron man suit with pop up pieces, he said there was no programming done. I don't know how to program and i am to busy to learn but i would like to know how he did it ? I know his armor isn't to good but i want to know how he did the shoulder pieces. It says he just used motors. Please explain or give me a video or photo tutorial. Please and thank you (:

Metroid Cubed: The original metroid game brought back in 3D with voxels.

VL-Tone, the sole creator at Qubed Studios, has recreated the full metroid game in 3d. It's called Metroid Cubed and it's great stuff for fans of the classic free-form exploration game. In his updated version, you can warp to any place on the map, and can change all sorts of things such as lighting and backgrounds and even play sans armor. He's also got some other great voxel experiments and a Mario64 editor on the site as well.Click and check it out: Metroid Cubed

How to make an Mark 6 reactor for mounting on a guitar?

I am trying to make my guitar look like the armor of Iron Man. I have seen lots of versions, but the Arc Reactors I have seen are all too thick to mount under the strings on a guitar. I just want to make the triangle that lights up in the center. What materials can I use to make the frame the exact size and height that I need? And what can I use for the top cover? I never made anything like this before. So any help would be appreciated. I included a pic of the guitar. I would like the reactor to cover where the middle pickup used to be. Thanks!

Help wth a 12v DC circuit

Hello all2 Questions pleaseI am working on a hobby project and I am needing to hook a 12v computer fan (200mm) which is 0.3A max...up to a Turnigy 5.0 Li-Po battery. The battery is 7.4v, 30-40c discharge, 5000mAh. I have ordered a DC to DC adjustable voltage "step-up" converter to increase the output to 12v (I am hoping this works). (Q1) - how (if at all) do I limit the output amperage to 0.3A without burning up the fan motor. The fan is going into a cosplay set of foam armor (to help keep some air flow going to try to keep semi-cool) and I am hoping to be able to run the fan for about 3hrs. If I can accomplish the above, (Q2) - how long might the fan run?Attached is the "step-up" I ordered...

Need to learn how to wire and install a basic wall-mounted light bulb socket in a dog house, absolute beginner. WILL PAY

I have poured over article after article, and a few "wiring for dummies" type books, but I cannot figure out how to do a simple light socket job. I am not stupid, I can figure out most DIY stuff on my own, but EVERY single tutorial I look at does a poor job at explaining things for someone who doesn't already know how to do it. It feels like I would have to take a college course or read an entire wiring manual just to get the project-specific answers I need, but I am pretty sure its not that complicated. Wiring isn't brain surgery. My project is this: I am trying to install a light bulb socket onto the wall of a dog house, using a wall-mounted socket like this... http://www.amazon.com/Leviton-9875-Porcelain-Incandescent-Lampholder/dp/B00002N7IM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid;=1395899759&sr;=8-2&keywords;=wall+mount+light+socket  (called a "porcelain incandescent lampholder"?) ...and the power source will somehow be pluggable into an extension cord so I can just plug it into the nearby outside wall outlet. I have no problem understanding how to attach it to the wall or make a hole for the wires, but I just don't know what materials to use to install the socket, wire it for power, etc. So far the only thing I have been able to glean is that I need to strip and then attach a certain wire to the "hot spot" and the neutral wire to the "neutral spot", and maybe use armored wires? But how do I strip the metal casing, and how far do I strip it, and how do I attach the other end to a plug, etc, etc... I need to know every tool involved, every step, anytime you are moving something in the wiring, you need to be describing it, use adjectives and plenty of pictures. I understand that this is not a quick question, so I will seriously PAY anyone who can really explain it to me (without me having to ask a billion questions because you made too many assumptions, absolute beginner people). Bad example would be :  "...and then take your base and "word I don't understand" and attach it to your power source, and voila!". I would be willing to pay $10-15 to the person who is the most helpful (I could send it via paypal, or snail mail). Thank you to whoever takes the time to answer.
