How to build a Video Booth?

I am a spanish guy who wanna surprise my brother in his wedding with a video Booth... i was checking prices with Spanish companies which are specialized on this topic,,, But it is crazy expensives... Then i found this website full of creativity and amazing instruction of how to build a photobooth..So i realized my dream is possible!!! What i wanna know it is if someone knows a Software of video records that i can use to build my "dreamed videobooth". I have all the covers and the system..but i am missing one of the most important part. I want the guess press a buttton which make record 30 second clip and stop... I dont wanna be tied up to the Video Booth the whole wedding so I wish the button doesn´t let them to record longer videos than 30 second clip ( I know people on wedding get drunk and they will forget to push the button "Stop" so the memory of the camera will be full, and at the same time 30 second if enough time to leave a nice or funny message and not make it too heavy)  It is the first time i am using as member this webside so apologyze if this is not the correct way to ask a question.... thank u very much to all of u CREATIVE PEOPLE!!

LED Light Strips to light Art Booth?

I would like to create lighting for my art booth using LED lighting strips. I have already worked with these and really like them, but never in the size I would need to light my booth. Everything I have done, was powered but 8 AA batteries. Example of a lite booth, with conventional track lighting. http://jwallacephoto.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2008-04-booth-paseo.jpg My idea is to light my 10x10 booth with 3 10' lengths of aluminum angle iron http://assets.overclock.net.s3.amazonaws.com/9/91/913173c2_vbattach89423.jpeg and put two 10' strips on each of the 2 inner surfaces (inside the L shape). So I would have a total of 60' of LED strips. I need to illuminate 3 of the 4 walls. My first question, would this be too bright? If so, would a single row on each piece of angle iron do the job? Second question is connecting it together and powering it. My only option is to run it off batteries, because not all events have easy access to power and the ones that do, charge a hefty fee. I need something light weight to carry, I don't want to go with a car battery, but feel with this many lights, I might have to. Considering they need to be run for at least 8 hours. But, I really want each 10' section to be self powered and contained. So that I can hang it from inside the tent and not have to run wires all over the place to power the 3 sections. In a perfect world, each one would self powered with a single battery box attached to it at one end and at the other would be a short wires to connect the top and bottom strip inside the V grove to make it all one piece. Making it a 20' length in one 10' section. Anyways, it's late and I think I am starting to ramble. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What kind of printer and computer to use for a photo booth? Answered

I am planning on constructing a photo booth. I was wondering what kind of computer and printer to get that would be cheap and reliable. I need the computer to run XP and the computer will only have the photobooth software on it so it doesn't have to be super juiced up.  and the printer needs to hold 200 sheets of 4 by 6 glossy photo paper. Any ideas?

What is the best mic/setup for Youtube voice overs at $50-$80 US? Answered

Hello all, Does anyone out there do voice over work or have videos you apply voice overs to? I have recently started a show on Youtube and I don't like the audio quality I am getting. I am currently using my closet as a recording booth and a Rode Video Pro Mic direct into my laptop's mic input. It's okay but i want better. I have a budget of $50-$80 to spend. I have been looking at the Audio Technica AT2100 USB/XLR mic, as it has some awesome reviews but i want to hear from the Instructables community as well.

Trying to make a arduino based photo booth, and need help with my code for the countdown to be triggered by a button?

I am new to Arduino and am trying to make an Arduino based Photo Booth which will have a button that is pressed and triggers a countdown on an 8x8 SPI matrix and at the end of the countdown it triggers a SLR Camera (Nikon D5500) (i still need to work out how to trigger the camera and write the camera trigger code). at the moment i have managed to create code that starts the countdown when a button is pressed however it seems to only want to listen to the button randomly and triggers whenever it seems to feel like it. Here is the code i have so far...Have i written it correctly? #include "LedControl.h" const int buttonPin = 2;     // the number of the pushbutton pin int buttonState = 0;         // variable for reading the pushbutton status LedControl lc=LedControl(12,11,10,1);  // Pins: DIN,CLK,CS, # of Display connected unsigned long delayTime=1000;  // Delay between Frames // Put values in arrays byte invader1a[] = {   B01111110, // #9   B11111111,   B11100111,   B11111111,   B01111111,   B00000111,   B11111111,   B01111110 }; byte invader1b[] = {   B01111110, // #8   B11111111,   B11100111,   B01111110,   B01111110,   B11100111,   B11111111,   B01111110 }; byte invader1c[] = {   B11111111, // #7   B11111111,   B00000111,   B00001110,   B00011100,   B00111000,   B00111000,   B00111000 }; byte invader1d[] = {   B01111110, // #6   B11111111,   B11100000,   B11111110,   B11111111,   B11100111,   B11111111,   B01111110 }; byte invader1e[] = {   B11111111, // #5   B11111111,   B11100000,   B11111110,   B11111111,   B00000111,   B11111111,   B01111110 }; byte invader1f[] = {   B11101110, // #4   B11101110,   B11101110,   B11111111,   B11111111,   B00001110,   B00001110,   B00001110 }; byte invader1g[] = {   B11111110, // #3   B11111111,   B00000111,   B11111110,   B11111110,   B00000111,   B11111111,   B11111110 }; byte invader1h[] = {   B01111110, // #2   B11111111,   B11100111,   B00001110,   B00111000,   B11100000,   B11111111,   B11111111 }; byte invader1i[] = {   B00011100, // #1   B00111100,   B01111100,   B00011100,   B00011100,   B00011100,   B00011100,   B00011100 }; byte invader1j[] = {   B00000000, // #smile   B00000000,   B00100100,   B00000000,   B10000001,   B01000010,   B00111100,   B00000000 }; byte invader1k[] = {   B00000000, // #blank   B00000000,   B00000000,   B00000000,   B00000000,   B00000000,   B00000000,   B00000000 }; void setup() {   lc.shutdown(0,false);  // Wake up displays   lc.shutdown(1,false);   lc.setIntensity(0,5);  // Set intensity levels   lc.setIntensity(1,5);   lc.clearDisplay(0);  // Clear Displays   lc.clearDisplay(1);   pinMode(buttonPin, INPUT); } //  Take values in Arrays and Display them void sinvader1a() {   for (int i = 0; i < 8; i++)    {     lc.setRow(0,i,invader1a[i]);   } } void sinvader1b() {   for (int i = 0; i < 8; i++)   {     lc.setRow(0,i,invader1b[i]);   } } void sinvader1c() {   for (int i = 0; i < 8; i++)   {     lc.setRow(0,i,invader1c[i]);   } } void sinvader1d() {   for (int i = 0; i < 8; i++)   {     lc.setRow(0,i,invader1d[i]);   } } void sinvader1e() {   for (int i = 0; i < 8; i++)   {     lc.setRow(0,i,invader1e[i]);   } } void sinvader1f() {   for (int i = 0; i < 8; i++)   {     lc.setRow(0,i,invader1f[i]);   } } void sinvader1g() {   for (int i = 0; i < 8; i++)   {     lc.setRow(0,i,invader1g[i]);   } } void sinvader1h() {   for (int i = 0; i < 8; i++)   {     lc.setRow(0,i,invader1h[i]);   } } void sinvader1i() {   for (int i = 0; i < 8; i++)   {     lc.setRow(0,i,invader1i[i]);   } } void sinvader1j() {   for (int i = 0; i < 8; i++)   {     lc.setRow(0,i,invader1j[i]);   } } void sinvader1k() {   for (int i = 0; i < 8; i++)   {     lc.setRow(0,i,invader1k[i]);   } } void loop() {// read the state of the pushbutton value:   buttonState = digitalRead(buttonPin);   // check if the pushbutton is pressed.   // if it is, the buttonState is HIGH:   if (buttonState == HIGH) {     sinvader1a();     delay(delayTime);     sinvader1b();     delay(delayTime);     sinvader1c();     delay(delayTime);     sinvader1d();     delay(delayTime);     sinvader1e();     delay(delayTime);     sinvader1f();     delay(delayTime);     sinvader1g();     delay(delayTime);     sinvader1h();     delay(delayTime);     sinvader1i();     delay(delayTime);     sinvader1j();     delay(delayTime);     sinvader1k();   } if (buttonState == LOW) {    buttonState = digitalRead(buttonPin);   }   }

LCD TV Display or Monitor for Security Camera

Another tech guy at my school and I were thinking of buying this camera for the auditorium. The light/sound booth is off in a back corner, and due to a not-quite-big-enough window, it is almost impossible to see any activity on the stage when it's dark. This is an issue for when, say, we are supposed to turn on lights as soon as someone's onstage. We already have plenty of hiding places for it in the ceiling, and it had an array of IR LEDs, to further help it see the stage. The problem is a monitor. It has composite RCA output, and we need to find something that will display it. It doesn't need to be big, as the booth is just barely big enough to fit three or four people in. However, we would like to find an LCD, because we don't have much room for a CRT. Also, if you haven't guessed already, it has to be pretty cheap. I think I saw a display a while back that was a 10.4" LCD with RCA input and no tuner for under $30, but I can't remember what it was called or used for, much less where I saw it. Does anyone have any ideas where I could find an LCD display? Spambots need not apply...

Technoplastique's Robot Art

Ed and I got to meet technoplastique at the Austin Maker Faire back in October, where she was showing off the painting robot she built for the iRobot Create Challenge.I was busy losing my voice at the Instructables booth so didn't get to see her robot in action, but technoplastique stopped by to give us a special robot painting of our very own to take home! Here it is on the wall of my office at Instructables HQ. This is technically the back of the painting, but the colors and swoopy robot patterns look even better from this side of the thin cotton cloth.

Wiring Xbox 360 Fans, Basic Electrical Help, please.

Ok, So I ripped the cooling fans out of a dead xbox, and I'd like to use them for maybe an airbrush spray booth (depending on how much they suck) and I have some total newbie electrical questions. There are two fans rated at 12 vdc @ 0.4 amps each. I have a ac adapter with the same ratings. If I want these to run at maximum on one adapter, what rating do I need? I'm thinking 12vdc @ 0.8 amps, but I have a very limited understanding of electricity, so I'm most likely wrong. Instruct me, Instructables! Thanks very much!

Instructables at SXSW!

Eric and I will be at SXSW Interactive from March 7-11 in Austin, TX. If you're there too, come find us for some Robot stickers! No table or booth - we're just there to schmooze and have fun. We're bringing some neat toys, like a kinetic chain sculpture and Potenco's human power generator (used with the OLPC).We'll be attending as many of the geek parties as we can; tell us which you'd recommend. Right now the tentative plan is Saturday: Bike Hugger Beer & BBQ, Dorkbot, Opening Party, and one of the afterparties TBD.Sunday: Pre-party, PopSci.com after-party, and the Etsy/Threadless/Timbuk2/Moo People Powered Party.Monday: The Plutopia EFF shindig, Next New Networks party, plus the Facebook party primarily to hear BT.(Any suggestions? We like interesting people, blinky lights, fun art, and dancing to electronic music.)Come see us at the PopSci.com awards after-party on Sunday night, and help us make LED Floaties!

converting lighting fixture to portable battery operated

Ok I've done many searches but do to this being a bit unique I haven't found a solution thats spot on. So here's the story!  I found this cool bathroom, above the sink, multi bulb lighting fixture by the trash. (Oh like you don't shop the same places? He he) I really want steampunk looking lighting for a convention booth I am setting up in march. Tricky part is no power. So, I grabbed the fixture, blasted with a base coat of paint and am posting here for guidance on making this battery operated. Anything is possible I know but in this case I would like a few requirements to be met 1. I'm a maker, and a broke one at that, I don't want to spend $250 on a battery go anywhere plug in device ...its expensive plus if I can make my own I'm happier, mmo cheaper I'm even more happy, mmo with more "found" parts I'm even more happiest! ;-p  2. I'm a lil thing, 90lb soaking wet... I had to hump 120 pound packs w heavy radios back in my USMC days, however I'm not in the corps so I don't want to pack a 120 pound battery thru a convention center for my Lil display. Light as possible battery solution for my light please!;-p 3. I can't use solar at this location, I do have limited space and finally 4. If possible I'm trying to keep this looking nice. This is for my display table. The broke part...I need to make money and that means slick looking booth that people will be drawn towards, handing over their hard earned money for amazing well lit steampunk treasure. I love duct tape, even mentioned it on my dating profile...but it doesn't scream style. Just saying ;-p I'm not surrounded by fellow makers or tools so me chatting ideas out with friends and fine tools isn't happening...so I'm here i n hopes my fellow interweb maker family can help me out here. I have basic electrical knowledge, basic tools, color blind but I think were OK with these few colors here. I took photos to assist the visual and stir creative juices.  Mahalo for taking time to read and inspire!
