multiple speed setting for an electric vehicle?

Suppose an Ev had to run on different speeds say 30 miles/hr and 40 miles/h and vice versa. So how will the the current and voltage changes according to this situation. Say you have a 400w motor and torque is known already and is calculated according to the required acceleration. In short if you have an Ev and u want to set the ev run on different speeds what are the quantities that have to be checked or monitored (current,voltage) and .If you move from 30 to 40 miles/h what will happen to the variables?

 How do i make an image appear on both monitors with Vista? right now my monitors display one big desktop, i need one image, but in two places.

THREE-DEE VIDEO from multiple lcd panels.

This morning I was watching television and thought to myself, "Wouldn't Good Morning America be so much interesting in three dimensions? This got me thinking, and I came to this idea: what would happen if you dissected a bunch of lcd monitors, removed the backlights, and stacked them. Then, you plug all of the screens into a processor that generates an image for each screen, and have a powerful backlight to illuminate these screens. I know that it is quite a stretch, but if one could work around issues such as the amount of heat produced and the cost of production, I think this could work. I think the best bet for input would be using RGB or CKMY on multiple panels, but I am not an expert in optics or any of that. So basically, this is an outline of what would need to happen, as far as I can tell: 1. A group of LCD panels that, when in a cascade formation and are fed sufficient data, produce a three-dimensional image 2. A bright backlight that is capable of illuminating said LCD group 3. A video processor capable of sending multiple signals to the screens that would produce a three dimensional image (as stated in point 1) 4. A cooling system to maintain component functionality 5. A benefactor or deep pockets 6. Lots of spare time If you have any ideas, please add them, I'd love to hear from the Instructables community.

Blank screen for dual monitor support, bad PSU or Bad Video card

2 computers (X,Y) X is intel 478 1GBram 80 GBHDD (celeron 2.6) 200W PSU ATIradeon 9200(PCI), can get multy monitor on this system. Y is same litlle newer 2GBram 80&40GB HDDs (p4 3.0GhzHT prescott)  300W ATIraeon 9550(AGP) cant get dual monitor. onboard wont work if card plugged in.  2nd monitor plugge in with DVI-VGA Adapter.  it gets power but screen is blank.  ATI cat and windows recognizes both monitors but can't get video to display on 2nd.  I really ont want to buy a psu if I don't need one.... will  try plugging in 9200 PCI into Y tonight if it works then don't think its power supply (cuz it will be powering to vieo cards) anyone know what may be my prob...Also noticed when enabling in windows, screen resolution says it is 1024,0 (should be 1024,768)  lights are green on both monitors. when 1st monitor goes to standby second monitor follows.... Please before I lose all my hair... anyhelp?....

When I send multiple values (Y,Z) through serial monitoring, then the data will automatically becomes (0,0).

Hello everyone. I was using this code before with no trouble. But recently when I use the code, then it will set the data (0,0). I really can't understand why? I attached the photo of what I received in the serial monitor. you can see in the photo. for exampe when I give the value of (5,5), then automatically gives (0,0) again. it happens for other values as well. please help. what to do with 2 15" LCD monitors with a bad backlight?

The inverters are no good so reparing and selling is out of the question. so is using them, i already have a new one for my desktop and multiple monitors never work out for me. my laptop could possibly have another monitor hooked up to it but i still cant replace the inverters. it would be too expensive to fix either, (one has a bad inverter and the other has a whole bad power board) i can power up one, a Samsung SyncMaster 740N, it has no backlight, and repairing it would cost too much. i can also power up the other one, an Acer AL1706, without using the power board, but a PC power supply. the LCDs are ok as far as i can tell without backlights (ive had them both hooked up to my laptop to test them), so what can i do with these two monitors? i have no clue what to do with them, i need some inspiration. PS: one of my friends suggested i use the acer one, with a LED backlight, in my car in conjunction with a PC, when i get my car, that is.

convert any CRT TV or monitor into a vector (XY) monitor?

NOTE: I since found a couple links that might shed some light on the question... From HackIt: New uses for old CRT monitors It would be very hard to do, but it is possible a CRT could be converted to a vector monitor. Perfect for playing Asteroids, perhaps under MAME. You would have to replace all the control circuits, probably with an FPGA and three ADCs (x/y/intensity). The inquiry: Maybe I am over-simplifying but I was reading one of those examples of hacking into a CRT's horizontal & vertical yoke controls to sync to music: and had the idea that it should be possible to create a DIY XY monitor (vector display like on an oscilloscope, Vectrex, Asteroids, etc.) for an Arduino or other uC, MAME or Vectrex emulator, from any TV or CRT, once you have hacked into the electron gun's yokes. My understanding being: Raster display: the horizontal yoke (an electromagnet) sweeps the electron gun from left to right turning on the beam wherever there's a "pixel" at that line (which lights up the phosphor at that point making it visible), then it starts over at the next line (vertical yoke moves down) and draws the next line, and so on, Vector display: instead of rendering a moving image frame-by-frame using top to bottom/left to right scanning, shapes are drawn directly to the screen by positioning the horizontal & vertical yokes at the starting point, the beam turns on, and the yokes repoint to the end point, thus "drawing" the line inbetween the 2 points (I would assume this is for straight lines, not sure if circles or arcs are possible?) then the beam turns off, and the yokes get re-positioned to the next line's starting point. I'm not sure what turns the beam on & off or what kind of timing might be involved, obviously that needs to be controlled somehow. Or for color, where instead of a single white (or green, amber, etc) phosphor exists per pixel, there are multiple (red, green, blue) per pixel, and the beam hits each one at varying strengths (or for a varying length of time?) to 'mix" the primaries to the desired color? I'm not sure how that gets handled in a color vector monitor, but I would assume it's something similar to raster? So if we can hack into a CRT's X/Y yokes and move them around with an audio signal, can we control the yokes more deliberately from a microcontroller to plot specific shapes or text, hence a vector display? For those audio/TV hacks, what is the audio signal doing to the yokes that causes them to move? Whatever it is - voltage, resistance, etc - this is what our device would have to control. Possible proof of concept version: make a device to control the yokes' position etch-a-sketch style with a couple of potentiometers, and turn on the beam with a switch or button. If you see a dot of light moving across the screen then it works. I am thinking the controller might need to be "calibrated" for the individual CRT? (Maybe build some kind of calibration mode into the device.) You might dedicate a microcontroller to driving the display - it could receive text or vector shape coordinates via serial, store the shapes to draw in its own memory, and persist or refresh the image independently, freeing up processing power for whatever device it's displaying for. Another idea would be maybe add some kind of way to read light pen's coordinates, thus making the CRT an input device that can be read from the microcontroller or PC (the Vectrex had a light pen right?)  [This would be a cool mod for the Arduino composite TVout as well.] So is this idea possible without a ridiculous amount of work & parts?  I may be dead wrong about how this stuff works (I'm sure that if this was possible, someone would have done it by now?) but figured it can't hurt** to put the idea out there. I have visions of 4-player vector Arduino pong, Asteroids, Tempest, PDP-1 Spacewar!, vector NES Duck Hunt, a vector etch-a-sketch or lightpen drawing or animation program, or vector Atari Video Music. Possibly an open source color vector games system. Or just a vector display system for any Arduino or microcontroller project, made from any TV. **WARNING: maybe it CAN hurt... Evidently hacking into any CRT can be deadly, you have to discharge the CRT and capacitors properly or you can get killed. So please be careful. This definitely is NOT for kids to try at home.

What is my bottleneck? Answered

I just recently built a new gaming machine, and have been running into a bottleneck issue. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice.  My Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate MSI GD-55 Z-77a Motherboard Intel i5 3570k OC 4.2 Ghz Radeon HD 5770 x2 (Crossfire) 16Gb (4x4) Corsaire 1600Mhz RAM 1 Tb 7200rpm Western Digital HDD 850w Coolermaster PSU I have downloaded the most recent AMD drivers and Crosssfire Profiles. The problem I am having, is that I almost never see anything in my computer running at max while gaming. I will usually have my GPUs running at around 60-70%, and none of my CPU cores running higher than 50-60%.  The first thing that came to my mind was temperature. However my CPU never gets hotter than 65c, and my GPUs never hotter than 80c.  The other thing that I thought of was a possible lack of power. But 850w is at least 40% more than recommended for my system specs. To test this, I did a CPU benchmark, and a GPU benchmark at the same time, both hit 100% usage, and my computer did not lose power. (nor did anything get too hot) After ruling Temperature and power out, I thought maybe it was my RAM. However, I have read multiple places that it is nearly impossible for any game to max out quad channel memory bandwidth. I have more than enough of better-than-average RAM, storage isn't the issue. So I doubt its my RAM. But I am no expert. I then ran "Windows Resource monitor" to watch my HDD Disk usage. While gaming, nothing transferred more than a couple Mb/S. The specific specs of my HDD include a 64MB Cache, and a  6.0Gb/s Data transfer rate. My Motherboard also supports 6Gb/s Transfer rates. So I doubt its my HDD. I know my GPUs are 2 generations old, but if they were the bottleneck they would be running at 100% (or at least higher than 80%) Now I don't know what to think, except that its maybe software related. But I cannot think of anything specific that would do this sort of thing. Any suggestions?

iPad Problems - 14 Problems with Apple's iPad

Apple just revealed the new Apple iPad Tablet that will probably make it one of the first failures by Apple's latest line of products. Apple revealed this new Tablet PC as a challenger to netbooks. However, it's already been labeled a "less powerful, but more expensive netbook." Here are 14 iPad problems that made this Apple iPad an iDisappointment. 1. No Multitasking The Apple iPad is just like the iPhone, in that there is no multitasking. You can't work on a document and talk on AIM or Gtalk. In other words, the iPad just a giant iPod Touch (the iPod Touch being better) and cannot match netbooks. 2. It Has an Awkward Design The design is a bit awkward because you have to hold it in one hand and balance it while your other hand uses the functionality or more likely you will need to put it on your knees to use it properly. It's like holding a monitor, I'm sure nothing will happen to it. Some people complain about the Bezel being too large, but perhaps this was necessary so that you don't constantly give commands while moving around. 3. No Adobe Flash Were you considering watching Hulu on this? How about youtube (well we'll have to wait for an app for that)? Thinking of playing flash games while waiting on the bus? Oh well. 4. No USB, Need Adapters Again with the iPod design, you need to plug in the special Apple adapter. If you lose it, you'll have to buy another. If you want to plug in multiple devices you need USB to iPad adapters! Since it's not even using Mac OS, most USB devices would probably not work anyway. 5. AT&T; Once Again Are you thinking of purchasing the 3G version? You'll need to get it with AT&T; and think of how overloaded their service will be now. There is no Verizon, T-Mobile, or Sprint service available for this product, some of which has better coverage. You can't use T-Mobile's 3G at all because of their MicroSIM made specifically for AT&T.; 6. Memory Business Model Apple will charge you extra for higher memory. It's a business model they use for all their products to increase profits. That's why they don't want other storage devices being inserted to improve memory. You're also stuck with a limit of 64GB, so don't think about putting in all your music, movies, or games. 7. Touch Keyboard Many people were complaining about the touchscreen keyboard. Which would be fine if it worked perfectly and you didn't have to sit it exactly on your lap and make sure it's flat. You can however, attach an Apple keyboard, just another way for Apple to make money. 8. App Store Again Just like the iPod Touch you have to download everything from an App store. Meaning if you don't like Safari, you're stuck with it. Some apps may be banned once again. 9. No Cameras Yeah no web cams on the front, and no cameras for photos or videos from the back either. 10. No Removable Battery You can't just take an extra battery with you on a long trip because the battery works the same way as an iPod (though my bet is, it doesn't last as long). 11. No HDMI/DVI Output You can't plug this thing into your TV to display your HD movies. You'd need AppleTV for that. 12. No Widescreen 16:9 ain't happening, you're stuck with a 4:3 screen. 13. No GPS There's no GPS, so --unlike the T-Mobile MyTouch or the Verizon Droid which both run on Android, can multitask and have GPS so that you can use the Beta Google Maps Navigation system for turn-by-turn directions-- you're stuck with locating yourself via WiFi hotspots. 14. It's Large, Slow, and Clunky Not only will you have to buy accessories to protect your device, it's very large making it easy to drop and probably won't live a healthy life in a backpack filled with notebooks and other possibly sharp objects. There may be a number of accessories sold by Apple to cover some of these problems. The iPad max speed is 1GHz (A4 processor) and will probably be just as slow surfing the web as most other smartphones and it won't match up to netbooks. There is no Mac OS X or anything either, it's definitely the iPhone OS except without the Phone capability and of course I'm sure they will ban Google Voice and Skype. The iPad is about the size of a Kindle, so it is nice for reading e-books I suppose, but then I'm not sure why I wouldn't just buy a Kindle.
