Pin-Pressions/ Rotation Sensor

I'm trying to build a sensitive pinpression device: one that can see 3d digital images. The device would be able to read, record and organize the depth of each pin. I think the first problem to overcome is figuring out a cheap way to measure pin depth. I think it will be best to do this with rotation sensors. Does anyone know how to build or where to buy cheap rotation sensors?

Troubling Flyback Transformer Pins

Hello,       I'd like to request someone to share their knowledge about their "flyback" knowledge or experiences with me since I'm having trouble finding the primary coil pins with my flyback transformer. I'm constructing my own HV power supply and I decided to go through this tutorial.       I've read much on the web and found the 0v output pin of my flyback. The problem is .. I couldn't find the primary and secondary since I'm using an analog multimeter and the tutorials on the web are all digital..       When I test the pins with my multimeter set to ohm range of x1, I do not get a pair of 1 ohm pins but instead I got the result of "Continuity" when I test on following pins, they seems to be connected but none of the pins show to 1 ohm.. and thus I've adjust the Ohm Adjustment. The results are Continuity 1 : 1,2,6,8 Continuity 2 : 3,4,7,10 No Continuity: 5,9 Pin no 5 is 0v output..  I've attached the pin number diagram at photos... my drawing and actual pins.. Have you got any idea to find out the primary coil? I've also attach my driver from CFL.. Thanks

High Amp MOSFET pins?

I have bought two 75N06 MOSFET's rated a 75A that I am intending on using in an inverter circuit I will build the inverter will be powered with a 9v battery that will only trigger the MOSFET's that will lead to a modified microwave oven transformer and a car battery (65Amp). With the car battery I intend to draw about 200Amps from. At 50-60Hz the MOSFET's( I'm guessing) will be able to take that current but I am not sure if the pins will be able to handle that current the pins are only 0.34mm(0.01339Inches) by 0.6mm(0.0236Inches) thick so will it be able to handle 200Amps? If not could you suggest how to do this possibly with a few lesser current MOSFET's (lesser will equal a bit cheaper) in parallel? Thank you for any suggestions.

Strongest 3V LED with pins?

I'd like to build a LED into an empty light bulb that can run on 3V (from button cells). So I can't use the normal screw-in leds that are sold because they are all 12V at least. I'm planning to build the LED into the lightbulb myself, and connect it manually to the batteries. I'd like my LED to be as omnidirectional as possible. So what LED would I be able to use for this, and would I need some sort of diffuser or something to make the light shine in all directions? Would I be able to get up to about similar lumens as a 40W incandescent bulb?

Identifiying and sources of connectors

I started investigating the insides of a cheap forward facing camera thinking it might be possible to mount the camera module on some old glasses frames and connect it back to the recorder / playback unit with a cable. I was happy to discover the camera module was concted to the main board by a multi pin socket and a couple of dabs of glue. Unfortunatley I have no idea of how to identify and find a matching plug and socket to make a cable. the main body of the plug is 13mm long 3mm wide and about 3mm deep and has 15 pins on each side these pins are a little under 1mm appart. I hope someone is able to offer some help with how to identify and find another.

Which pins are which on a shift register? What pins on a 74HC595 shift register are the data, clock, and latch pins? Answered

I just bought an arduino and was trying to do this tutorial https://www.instructables.com/id/Arduino-Expermentation-Kit-How-to-get-Started-wi/step7/8-More-Leds-74HC595-Shift-Register-CIRC05/ . I have hit some trouble though and I am confused when it comes to the shift registers. When he says to connect to the clock pin, do we connect to the SCK (Shift Register Clock Input) or the RCK (Storage Register Clock Input)? When he says to connect to the data pin, do you connect to the SI (Serial Data Input)? Also what does he mean when you say to connect to the latch pin? The data sheet for the Digikey shift register I am using is in the link below.http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/MM/MM74HC595.pdf?

Is this legal? (UK electrical appliance question) Answered

Kitewife just bought a Christmas decoration, but when it came out of the bag, the connection was as shown in the image. The loose wire is already a safety concern, about which I shall be contacting the store, but I also I thought that appliances sold in the UK had to have a plug moulded onto the power lead? Since the decoration is lit with old-style filament bulbs instead of LEDs, I am wondering if she has been sold something that has been sitting in a warehouse since before the legislation changed?

Ardunio Uno Keypad Pin Memory

Hello everyone, I am having trouble making an Arduino code using an Ardunio Uno, and a 4x4 keypad. Quick background, I just started working at a school to help them out with CAD drawings, and they are working on a project.  The students have to make a "cabinet" that has doors or drawers or whatever they wanted.  the door has to lock with a solenoid, and be opened with a pin from a keypad.  The reason is the students will store Ipads in there to charge and so that nothing gets taken. They want the students to put their Ipad into one part of the cabinet, then close the door, lock the door, and put in a pin for that door.  then they want the student to be ale to put in their pin and their door opens.  This would allow each student to put in their own pin, They don't want pre programmed pins as the students that use the room changes over a lot. The biggest trouble so far is none of the teachers know how to make the Ardunio save a pin to memory, and then check the memory when a pin is put in.  So if anyone could help point me in the direction of how to do that, or help with the code hat would be great. Thanks, P.S. I'm a mechanical engineering tech student helping with CAD simply because I know it well enough.  and I don't know much programming.
