My UPS is designed to run on 36v Dc input. Can i be able to use a single 12v battery for it to run? if not is there a way i can adjust the input power to 12V?

Hi Guys, My first time to post a question here. I had purchase a UPS from a store. The UPS have 2 6 volts battery inside of it, the seller said that 1 of those battery isn't working anymore. My question is this, how do I replace or is it possible to replace it with 1 12 volts battery instead of having 2 6 volts battery to fit there. What will be the layout of the wirings if I have to do it on 1 12 volts battery. I tried making search of the actual item on the net but couldn't find it. Here's the pictures and the information of the UPS Information -------------------------------------------- 2009000002391 MODEL: ELITE 500 VOLTAGE: 220V / 60Hz MADE IN TAIWAN --------------------------------------------

I am wanting to build an Uninterrupted power supply. I was planning to use relays to connect and disconnect and the mains and battery power. N/O for the mains and N/C for the DC voltage. I wasn't sure if the relays would switch fast enough for the CPU to remain on. I loaded 2 pictures. Has anybody ever built something like this?

Hello instructables, I am a student at High Tech High North County and we are working with arduinos in our Engineering class. Our project is to create a reverse sensor for a motor vehicle, we are having trouble finding a way to set up the sensor with the arduino. The sensor we are using is HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Ping range sensor. If you have any idea on how to do this, please reply. Thanks.

Does anyone know a super simple game console hook-up? I don't really know much about circuit boards, and electronics, but I'd like to learn. What I mean by simple is: a power supply plug for it, AV cable plugin, an on/off switch, controller ports, and game cartridge port. To be specific, I'd like to be able to build a smaller, simpler version of a Sega Genesis, or N64, or whatever. --- Thanks!!

I recently acquired a very large 12V SLA battery and want to make a UPS for my computer. I think I have the basic idea, but I'm not entirely sure how I would go about this. I'm guessing I could use a relay to switch from the mains to battery, but then I would need a very large capacitor to run the equipment for a few milliseconds whilst it switches. I would need a separate transformer and regulator for the relay, and also an inverter for the battery, which I will probably buy as it looks like it would be too hard to make. Is this the right approach to it?

I had installed Ubuntu as a program that I can run within windows, just to try it out. Turns out it didn't quite fit my needs. When my computer boots up, it gave me the option to boot from windows or Ubuntu. Well, since I no longer want Ubuntu, I uninstalled it following the directions given by their website. I still have the option to boot Ubuntu when my computer starts up, but when I select it, It won't boot. I want Ubuntu out of my options to boot from. Anybody know how I would remove it from the list?

Would it be possible to use a landline telephone, a computer with speakers and a microphone, and a software program to connect to the internet with dial-up? there are multiple free dial-up numbers available, so if I called with the phone, and used the computer to emulate an analog modem and listen to the response with the microphone, would I be able to get online? if so, does anything like this already exist?

Science in the media: Put up or shut up25 April 2009 by Kathy SykesMagazine issue 2705. I include myself here....If you're still troubled by how others communicate, why not spend less time ranting and get out there and communicate in ways you do like? I've just posted an ible for quick, dirty, and cheap slide digitizing. It's fine for iffy slides from a 110 camera. But there is a box of perhaps several thousand slides made by serious photographers in the family. I would like to digitize them (and would have access to a better camera than my point and shoot digital). I've seen YouTubes of slide projectors combined with cameras to automate the process. I just picked up a 4200 Kodak projector (with a stack loader) for another purpose at Goodwill. Can anyone make an ible for setting it up for digitizing with a Canon Power Shot S70?

I'm trying to make a row of 6 LED's where a random one light up when you press a button. I'm using a toggle button, so the led stays on until the button moves to the Off position. Then when you move it to the On position it chooses another random LED to light up. How could I go about doing this?

When this happens the mouse cursor and keyboard do not work. The old "Alt-Control-Del" doesn't do anything. I have to reboot and sometimes it freezes up during the boot process. It doesn't seem to be related to what windows I have open and will not happen for hours and then sometimes twice in a few minutes. If I leave it alone for some time it will sleep and not always awake. Does anyone have a solution or need more information about this problem? Any help will be very appreciated. Jerry

Hi everyone, I am trying to connect my Sega Dreamcast to the internet with it's 56k modem, without using telephone lines. From what I understand, I need to connect my my Dreamcast to a tone generator, then to a USB modem plugged into a laptop with which to forward the connection over wifi. My question is: Is this is a plausible solution, and if so, could I simplify and shrink this set up. Ideally I would like to figure out if I could build a tone generator instead of buying one and how can I replace the laptop with something like a raspberry pi. I think that once I figured out how to forward the connection on my laptop, it would be fairly straightforward to do the same with a raspberry pi. I would prefer a relatively compact solution if possible. Thanks in advance for any help or thoughts.

I have a couple of L11S6Y01 Lenovo Lithium Ion batteries 10.8V nominal, 48WH, 4400mAH batteries and a couple of their AC adapters lying around the house. I was looking up the Minty boost DIY battery back up and I was thinking of making this battery back up kit to recharge my iPhone and Samsung tablets, both of which can connect to USB power sources. My idea: 1) Get a 7 pin connector that will connect directly to my AC adapter. For example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/External-Laptop-Battery-Charger-for-Lenovo-IdeaPad-B570-G470-G570-Z570-L09L6Y02-/121091427052?pt=Laptop_Batteries&hash;=item1c319c8aec Maybe I can scavenge one such connector from this place: http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-X60S-Battery-Connector-/350772373819?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash;=item51aba9a93b 2) Build a circuit similar to Minty boost : http://www.ladyada.net/make/mintyboost/icharge.html Except in this case, my source is a Li Ion rechargeable battery instead of 2 AA batteries. Any ideas and thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi I have a simple question for one of you guys but it is difficult one for me since I'm not exactly into electronics. I want to build an apparatus into my car to move a small monitor up and down - in principal like a DVD drive in a computer that opens (when the ignition is turned on) and close (when ignition is turned off). What do I need to do that?? Stepper motor - Servo motor- do I need a controller ? Or can I do this with relays ? Anything helpful -ideas- let me know.

Hi I am working on an Image 15.0 R Treadmill. As soon as you start it , it shuts down as if the circuit has been interrupted. I unhooked the drive belt so that there was no resistance to it and it does the same still. The speed sensor seems to be working okay so I pulled the controller (board) and tried re-flowing it. as I flip the treadmills switch on not starting the treadmill-just turning the power on the motor runs for about 3 seconds. Because the cover is off while I am working on it I can see that during that 3 second window the motor has a spark (bolt) from one of the bolts to the post (I think stater) the one that if the motor were disassembled the part spinning inside the copper wind. I don't remember what it's called (armature?) Anyway this arching does not re-occur unless I completely unhook the board once more and re-assemble. After re-flow the motor still just begins to load (start) bumps about 1/2 a rotation and stops. I read an article here that Iceng had commented about bringing his P.M. D.C. Motor model # c335483304 back to life......it is the exact motor....my girlfriend has been on me about fixing her treadmill so here I am. Anything would be of great interest and help to me. Thanks a million in advance. Troy

Sooo, do you use it for a certain purpose? Do you buy it, just to strip it for parts? Or maybe IBLE idea's on uses for an UPS!
