Energy wheel

This Idea is based on Magnetic Repulsion and Kinetic force. According to diagram there will be a  Wheel and a magnet(1) will be attached with this wheel. There will be a balance system(seesaw system) and two magnets(2no.magnet and 3no. magnet) will be attached with this balance system . when 1 magnet will repel 2 no.magnet then the 2 no.magnet will move upward and due to this movement the 3 no. magnet will come down and will work to repel 1 no. magnet and wheel will start to rotate. when 1 no. magnet will again repel 2 no.magnet after a rotation then the 3 no. magnet will again work to repel the 1 no.magnet. In this way the wheel will rotate again and again. The magnetic strength of 1 no. magnet will be high than 2 no. and magnetic strength of 3 no. magnet will be high than 1 no. magnet. I want to develop this technology.

DIY Steering Wheel

Hello, I'm new here. So, lately, I've been thinking about making a steering wheel for my PC, with a simple up-and-down gear box and 2 pedals for acceleration and brake. Steering Wheel. I'm using a polystyrene sheet, to cut out a wheel from it, and in the center, there's space for installing a phone holder. I'm planning to use my phone's gyroscope and simulate it to the PC. Pedals. I've figured by using foams underneath, we can place a nail and a foil separated and when we press the pedal, the foil touches the nail and circuit gets completed. I've a general idea, but I'm stuck on how to give that signal to PC as to simulate as a button (say for acceleration and brakes.) Gearbox. For the gearbox, I figured it might be easier to make an up-down box (as in pulling the level shifts the gear up and vice-versa.) Here too, The part where I'm stuck is giving the signal to the PC. Anyone who can help me, please?

Steering wheel desk

From the MAKE blog, comes a pass-through of a product available on Amazon. The steering-wheel latch-on table itself is fairly pedestrian (pun intended), but the legalese is just delightful. Read it for yourself at http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2009/09/re-make_simple_elegant_handy_steeri.html .And before you comment, please keep in mind those orbital lasers. I have access to the launch codes, and have no qualms about using them.

Diamond grinding wheels: which alloy holds the diamonds???

Diamond wheels are increasingly cheap. So cheap, I'm contemplating using them as steel disks in a wind generator. But it hurts to leave this magnificent technology unused.  The binding metal looks like silver brazing alloy to me. What is it, how can I take it off, could I re-use it... Perhaps not now, but I could picture a huge cup shaped wheel to grind a glass blank to a pre shaped telescope mirror

Help modify the maximum rotation for my steering wheel.

Hi everyone, i have a steering wheel from trust , i dont know the details. so, i attached a photo to understand better what i`m talking about. i play racing games, and i need a maximum rotation, i installed the drivers for it, so when i am in aprox 45 degree rotation it show and he behave like i`m in the maximum rotation. The maximum rotation is aprox 135 degree, so its a difference between them. i opened him, because i finished an tehnical university with a electromechanical profile, and try to modify the potentiometer that handle the rotation. i tried to put a smaller one, a bigger one, even try the fine course like its called, but nothing, i attached a photo of it two, maybe i forgot something. If anyone think or have an idea what to try , please help, because i have no other idea.

Rear Wheel RC Steering?

Ok, so before I actually get to my question let me explain what I am doing. I have a traxxas rustler, I wan't to put 4 wheel steering on it, and I wan't it to be very stable.  I know how I am going to set up the steering, but I need help with the electronics of it.  The stock reciever has a channel 1 output (to ESC) two channel 2's (for two servos) a channel three, and a channel 4.  I wan't this car to be able to switch one of the servo's from inverted to not inverted using channel three which is the output of a two position switch.  Is there a way to do this without mechanically connecting the whole fancy layout seen below?

Mouse wheel. How do I replace optical encoder with rotary encoder?

Hi, I have a Belkin Nostromo N52 controller. It has a mousewheel that can be custom programmed independently from the wheel in your regular mouse. I want to use it as a jog dial so I want to remove it from the original place and replace the rubber wheel with a jog dial. Basically it is to rotate the wheel 90 degrees as they did here with a mouse: https://www.instructables.com/id/Desktop-Scroll-Wheel-and-Volume-Control/?ALLSTEPS The problem is the Nostromo wheel uses an optical encoder instead of a rotary encoder (the typical used by half of the mouse wheels in the world). The mod I want to do would be a little complicated using the optical encoder (I would have to use a piece of PCB perpendiculary soldered to the main PCB and the height of the resulting device would be very tall for what I want) but it would be very easy if I could replace the optical encoder with a rotary encoder I salvaged from a mouse since it can be laid down on the PCB pretty well. The problem is the signals of the optical encoder and the signals of the rotary encoder are different. The middle leg of the receiver in the optical encoder is connected to +5vcc while the outputs are connected to ground using 10KΩ resistors. In the rotary encoder, the first leg is connected to ground and the other two go directly to the mouse IC. I tried to remove the optical encoder of the Nostromo and connect the two outputs of the rotary encoder to where the outputs of the IR detector go and the third leg to ground but all I get is a permanently actived scroll down (as if the wheel was scrolling down all the time). I didn't dare to connect the third leg to Vcc just in case I blow the thing. I think there must be a way to replace the optical encoder with a rotary encoder and get the same signals and I think this involves using the Vcc line and resistors but since I'm not very good at the electronic side of things, I don't know how to do it. I'm enclosing a diagram of the optical encoder circuit. The diagram on the right enclosed in question marks is what I guess would be the equivalent circuit for the rotary encoder but I'm not sure. Can anybody confirm it or point out the appropriate corrections? Thank you.

How can I get oil into this motor?

Hey there guys, long time no see! I have a very special request, I want everyone to take a look and offer their opinions. Here's the situation: I recently aquired a 50" rear projection DLP Tv, quite a sweet deal and it still works... for the most part.. The sad thing is, the color wheel is starting to fail inside of it, for those of you who don't know what one of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Light_Processing#The_color_wheel_.22rainbow_effect.22 these are. This tv still actually works fine, but the motor is getting louder and louder, and sometimes the colors go out of sync and I have to restart the tv. It'll cost me $150 at least to replace the wheel, but really there's no need for it, the motor just need some oil! So anyways, I've had it apart before and oiled the motor, tried to squeeze some in the motor housing and in the divot on the backside where I presume is a bearing, but it appears sealed, as the video will show, as the whole outside moves, there is no visible moving parts of the shaft or the bearings :S So what I want to know, is anyone familiar with this type of motor and how I can pull it apart/oil it (I've done it with computer fans, why can't I do it with this). Worst come to worst, I'd even try drilling a small hole with my dremel that I could inject oil inside with? (Btw I have 3-1 oil, which I think should suffice enough). I was even thinking of getting a container so the motor can sit in oil without the glass having to, and just let it soak for a week or something, Ideas people??? Video:

How to power a light with a car alternator? Answered

I have made a system where i have a car alternator attached to a stool.  Attached aroung the wheel of the alternator is medical tubing wrapped around a wheel.  This wheel is held up by two pieces of wood.  I have attached handles on either side of the wheel.  On the alternator where the power is dispersed, I have soldered wires to an 1.5 Volt light.  I am spinning the wheel left and right.  But, it will not light the light.  So the questions that I am asking are, which way do I need to spin the alternator wheel if I was looking at the wheel from the front, and how fast I need to spin the wheel.  Any help would be appreciated!!! How can I build a RC car from scratch?

I'm searching on the web for this but I can't get all of my answers. The idea with this project it's to make a small RC car controlled by bluetooth/wi-fi with some sensors and using the PCB as part of the chassis. Thanks

Help needed to upgrade wheels on walker for all-terrain ?

I've been trying to source a rim / hub  for my e-walker project , and so far havent been succesful  in finding the exact measurments I need  7.5 " wheel / 46 mm width with 9- 10mm bearing ( SEE BELOW ) http://www.mcmaster.com/#ball-and-rolle ... gs/=9i3dx1 The spacer inside the wheel based on my measurements is 2.7 mm in length and 13 mm in diameter ( outside ) Any way , it seems the best match I can find for hub , tire so far is one of those wheels used on those razor electric scooters  here  though I do not see any bore sizes for any of them, in spite of being told there are after emailing them that its up there ( you can see for yourelf if you like ) So instead, I did websearch on the model of the scooter that correlated with the sorta wheel specs that might work - like e100 razor  and found 8mm mentioned a few times , which I assumed might be the correct diameter of the axel / bore size i need. ( I have also asked on scooter forum to confirm this ) 8 mm however is too small to fit my own  knee walker mobility device , so I was wondering - to cut a long story short  - if there is any way I can enlarge the hole in the bearings that might be realtively easy i.e. without paying someone else ( assuming this could be done easily ) or having to buy a rim with a bigger bore and using some sort of hub ring to make u the difference ( perhaps a bad idea for hun motor ) Again , if any one has any suggestion they willing to share I'd be more than greateful for your ideas and badly needed advice  :) thanks once again. hele
