Audio mixer phones vs main out settings

My friend and I have started podcasting, and I am learning as I go. One this we want to do is commentary tracks. Our current setup works but I want to move to an audio mixer and connect the main out to my behringer UC222. For this we need to hear ourselves and the movie audio via the headphones but only capture the mics on the main out. Can I make this happen by running the movie audio line as PFL with the fader(slider) at 0?

What Code Should I use To Make a Single Pulse Trigger.

Hello World,I am currently making a circuit that will produce a single pulse using Arduino. I want that my circuit and code should produce a single pulse, after that the pin o which I am taking output becomes low until I switch off the button. the pulse should again be generated when the button is pressed.I have been using a series of codes. But, whenever I upload the sketch to the Arduino it works for once. after that when I switch the button off and turn it on again it doesn't work. If the switch is kept on after some time it again starts to generate a pulse. Please if anyone can help me out would be a great thing.Thankyou.

What are these devices consisting of audio jack and LED(s) OR IR-transistors OR similar looking parts? Answered

I was cleaning in the office I work in and found these two devices on the picture. Now I'm curious what are these for as I couldn't derive the purpose from the looks. One of them has a mono 3.5mm audio jack and two LEDs or similar looking parts - 5mm round transparent things. One side of the enclosure around each "LED" has a sticky tape. If they would be attached to something then the "LED" would face 45 degrees from the surface. The other has a stereo 2.5 mm audio jack and one dark IR-reciver-like thing in a small round enclosure. The enclosure has two small holes on the other side, but I'm not sure if they are important. I tried the one with two "LED"-s in a headphone socket but nothing happened.

What could it be? Car died. I lost all compression on all 4 cylinders in my car ?

This is a 2000 Dodge Neon 4 CYL 16 valves,SOHC engine. Ok. On oct 1st I was driving about 60 mph for about 6 minutes after leaving my house in the morning I heard a noise that sounded like a pulley belt then the car turned off, pulled over to a parking and checked to see if a belt broke and they both were there. I checked the timing belt still on. try to start it and the timing belt look to be ok and turning. I did notice that when cranking it sounded weird like it had no compression at all at the pistons. I towed the car home checked the compression an all 4 cylinders and I was right I had no compression at all on all 4 cylinders. I see the timing belt turning when I crank it so I know for sure that it can't be the timing since the belt was replaced MAY, 2009 when the water pump went bad along with a new pump and rebuilt head w/brand new valves. I'm not sure what 's going on all i know is when I crank it the timing belts turns, the pulley belts all turn fine. This is the first time I had this problem. I fix all my cars but this is a first for me. If anyone has any idea what could it be I appreciate your help. I just spent a lot of money on this car so I need to have an idea before I start pulling it apart after installing a new head gasket set with all the new parts. THANKS

DIY WiFi Door opener/closer

Let's pretend for a second that I know nothing about electronics, but I'm VERY good at following directions/tutorials.I have a goat barn that is far enough away from the house so that I'd like to have a linear actuated door that I can open/close from my phone at my convenience. But I have a couple other needs that could make this difficult.Needs: Wifi enabled to open/close from smartphone Manual opening/closing as well View webcam feedThat's at a minimum.Wants (in the future or to be added later): add a speaker to play an audio file to call the dog/goats in before closing the door. add a timer for an automatic feeder for the dog/goats.I think that's all. If anyone could help me out, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Would a system of gears increase or decrease output?

In a scenario where you have a waterwheel on a river that was turning a wheel, would adding a system of gears increase the wheel speed or decrease the wheel speed due to friction. I have included a doodle to help visualize what I mean. The left side, side x, doesn't have any gears while the right side, side y, does have gears. The gears are made up of pieces that have a small side and a large side. I am pretty sure that the output would be much faster if friction wasn't involved, but I have a feeling that the friction would actually make it slower if gears were added. So, could anyone explain if x side would be faster or y side and explain why? Thank you

How do you determine the length of an antenna and the size of a fractal antenna? Answered

In an instructable, the formula for calculating antenna length was given as "length in meters =300 / frequency in MHz".  The example given was for a Bluetooth antenna with a frequency of 2450MHz.  The antenna length was calculated as 300/2450 = 0.1225m = 12cm.  The author then divided it by 4 to make a "quarter wave" antenna length of 30mm.  Why divide it by 4 and what is the benefit of a "quarter wave" antenna.  What is the effect of the conductor leading to the antenna?  If the 30mm antenna is soldered to a 4mm lead, does that result in a 34mm antenna?  For a fractal antenna, should the 30mm length of wire be folded into a fractal shape or should the total fractal antenna be 30mm in width?  I have read somewhere that one of the benefits of a fractal antenna is that they are able to receive signals of different wave lengths.

CB radio antenna question(s)....

I have a UHF CB radio in the car that is now quite outdated.Waiting for a 80CH replacement to arrive so the old one can be used as a fixed station in the house.Recently I made a new straight whip for the car as the fibreglass one snapped off.Now the problem I am facing is a total between reality and computer simulation. Here is what I did:Started with a straight steel wire on the elevated mounting - this spring mount is supposed to provide a ground plane as it was originally for a ground independent antenna.Simple math tells that a 1/2 Lambda whip should be around 33cm long, so I started with 40 and used my truted SWR meter. As it turned out my antenna was too short !?Tried again with a longer wire and got a good SWR reading of 1.09 with a total whip lenght of 49cm.As the elevated mount basically turns the entire antenna assembly into a vertical dipol I decided to simulate the thing in Mmangal.Should be straight forward, diameter and length of the ground rod, wire length and diameter for the actual whip. But with the same dimensions I have working fine on the car Mmangal tell me my antenna is totally out of whack.Calculated SWR is well over the 15 and the antenna is not anywhere near resonant in the 470MHz band.Mmangal is mainly for lower frequencies but shouldn't it work for the 70cm band as well?If I design the antenna as a classic ground plane with 3 or 4 radiating elements sloped at 42° I still get nowhere with my whip length.Since my SWR meter is correct and the antenna working really well I am wondering where my problem with Mmangal might be?Anyone here using it for 470MHz or with some insight on how to get the correct values for a vertical dipol antenna with a rod for ground and wire for the whip?

Box light from broken monitor

Hi, this is my first DIY project! I'm trying to convert a broken monitor into a panel light. I've successfully taken it apart, removed the LCD portion and retained only the backlight (with diffuser), which works fine. However, I have no idea how to keep the backlight on without a signal on the DVI/VGA ports, which the monitor's circuits clearly expect. When I press the power button, the backlight switches on, stays on for about 30 seconds and then switches off, presumably because there's no signal from the VGA/DVI ports.Model: T215HVN01.0Data sheet: https://datasheetspdf.com/pdf-file/789046/AUO/T21...What do I need to do to keep the backlight on as soon as the power is on? I have all the necessary tools (wires, breadboard, assorted resistors and capacitors, soldering iron, etc.). Do I need to have all the circuit boards that came with the monitor, or can I somehow make do with just the yellow board which takes care of the current and voltage to the backlight LEDs?I'm putting some pictures of the circuits here for reference... If I need to zoom in/focus on any specific part of the circuit boards, please let me know. Hoping someone can guide this electronics noob. :)

PS2= multimedia server with windows?

Hello Everyone,My questions is as follows. My friend has an old PS2 collecting dust, dying to be cleaned and given new life. Sadly, i'm not much of a gamer and this console is out-of-date as of this writing. I read on some other websites that you could turn it into a multimedia server. There were two versions: the Windows one and the Linux one. The Win one disappeared from the web for whatever reason, and i'm not tech-savyy enough to play with Linux -- i'm an initiate as advanced pc user but nothing more. So my question to you is: do you think/know of a way to breathe new life into this console and unleash its multimedia center potential? Sound off in the comments!!

Help with 33cc Gas Scooter? Answered

I have a 33cc gas scooter (sounds nerdy, I know), on the side I can make out what looks like Moto Rebel but not sure. It was used twice, sat in garage for one year without gas in the tank, then sold to me for $20 (Amazing price for something that's $350 new). Like new! It is 2-stroke but am unsure of the model number. It starts runs on choke between a small margin but won't run on ON, which is above choke on the switch. I think it may need the idle screws adjusted but am unsure. Has new and correct gas oil mix in tank and has primer button. Help would be appreciated.

How can I modify a PIR so triggers faster, and then fades out?

I want to make a motion-activated light that turns on immediately when someone walks by for about a second, then fades out for about one second. Most PIRs seem to stay on for a minimum of 5 seconds, then just cut off. I'm looking for a quick burst, quick fade. I'm very new to working with electronics, but my guess would be that instead of modifying the PIR itself, the PIR would be triggering something else that would be doing the timing/fading.

Infrared Sauna wiring?

Well, I bought a used infrared sauna the other day for real cheap because it "just stopped working all at once". Figuring its just a fuse or something, I took it. Well now I cant figure it out for the life of me.What seems to be the problem is that no power is getting to the primary transformer. That would be on the second small circuit board to the right. It is getting to the secondary transformer fine. Heres a pic of whats goin on. Those things on the sides are fuse holders, (no not burnt out).
