Arduino Dying out!! Answered

Hello,
I bought an Arduino about a year ago, and just now I noticed that whenever I plugged it into my computer, it turns on(of course), but then it slowly dies out. Can anyone help me diagnose this problem?

The problem is from the arduino to breadboard circuit connection.
Verify the 5V or 3.3V and GND from the arduino is connected to the breadboard correctly.

Try another power supply.

If the problem contuies pop the chip out of the board and then see if you still get power

If so, change the chip. If not replace the board

If you wiggle the USB a bit does it get better? You may have a loose connection.

No, it doestn work. I connected it to an IR receiver, and when connected, it quickly fades off. However, when its not connected to anything, it stays on.

Does it do the same on other USB power connections and other computers? Could be that your PC isn't able to offer the power it needs for some reason.
